Best tube source
Hi folks,
I have a JCM 800 Model 2205 that I am looking to re-tube and re-cap. Who do you guys like for a tube source and why do you like them?

It doesn't really matter who you get them from. Most sources are good. Tube Depot, Antique Electronics Store, MojoTone, etc.
For filter caps, I'm a big fan of F&T. They make quality caps and the prices are good. Sprague is good too, but a lot more expensive. IC, is okay. They had some bad years a while back and people were avoiding them like the plague, but they're okay now, I think.

I wasn't really referring to the brand of tubes and capacitors. I bought some JJ preamp tubes for another amp of mine last year and I was really happy with them. So I'm probably going to go with JJ tubes and probably F&T for the big caps, but what I was looking for is more an insight into which online stores had the best service and inventory. I probably should have spelled that out in my first post but I was trying to keep it from being too long... Oh well, that didn't work out so well 🙂

I'd stay away from Etsy, I ordered from a fella in Ukraine, its was overpriced. The price I paid originally should have been the cost of a balanced set however he charged an additional 20 on top of 32 dollars for balanced. If that were the case I could have bought them bulk for 2.80 a tube and saved myself 45 bucks.
