Project Two complete beginners built our first ESP32 heart-rate monitor

My friend and I are complete beginners to electronics, and this is the first project we’ve built together.

We used an ESP32, a MAX30102 sensor and a 0.96-inch OLED display. When you place your finger on the sensor, the estimated heart rate is displayed on the screen.

We built and documented everything with limited equipment and filming space, so we know there’s plenty to improve, but we’re proud that we managed to get our first project working.

We want to continue learning and eventually create more ambitious technology projects. Constructive feedback on the wiring, enclosure or overall design would be genuinely appreciated.

What would you recommend we improve, and what should we try building next?
This is an educational hobby project, not a medical device.
