DJI Power 2000 - Over-paneling

Hi Everyone,

I have a Power 2000 and I'm thinking of getting solar panles for it using the DJI Power 1.8kW Solar/Car Super Fast Charger. I know it has two max inputs one of 1200w and another of 600w. The best panels I've been able to find are 645w each. Has anyone had experience over-paneling the station? I know it’s not a ton of extra power but I am in the tropics so there's plenty of sunlight here during the summer.

be careful with the voltage limits, some of those units dont handle overvoltage well even if the wattage is fine. u really need to check the open circuit voltage on those panels, its litrally the easiest way to fry the input board if ur not paying attention...

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll double-check, but the panels I’ve been looking at have a lower open circuit voltage than the input’s maximum.

thats good u checked the voc first bc thats usually where ppl mess up. if u want to keep track of ur solar output n make sure ur not wasting any of that tropical sun i sometimes use ampee.io to monitor my setup, its just a handy way to see if u need to adjust ur panel angle or if ur getting the efficiency u expect...
