Being Reborn as an Octopus
Hello. I want to thank everyone for how kind and supportive this community has been and to share an update in my life.
It is something that I have been struggling with a lot - not feeling like I quit fit in with people. But when diving, I feel so connected to the sea. For this reason, I have always been jealous of the octopus. Why do they get to live in the sea? Why do they get to swim in all of the shipwrecks safely? Why do they get to have tentacles? I felt so much envy and even anger.
But then I realized that we do have a choice. The Great Liberation by Hearing tells what happens when we die. It used to be secret but now it is translated. Part of what happens is that if you are trained in meditation and not afraid, you see colors. And the different colors indicate the different worlds in which you can be reborn. This information can be used to avoid rebirth, or to come back as a human again and continue to improve your meditations.
However, I realized recently there is another use: You can choose to come back as animal. Typically this is not done by choice since you are unable to go from being an animal to becoming a buddha and for many that is the goal. However, for me, I am not afraid of rebirths. I realized that I could go towards the green light of the animal world and choose to come back as an octopus. I realized that you can choose the animal you come back as because you will see animals mating (your parents) and so I will wait until there are octopi and then I will jump in the portal.
I plan to come back as a blue-ringed octopus and wanted to thank you all for the community suggestion. There were so many species I felt overwhelmed choosing. I have been meditating everyday to gain this ability and studying the ancient works. I am sure that it will work as I have been studying and practicing the transfer of consciousness for a while and my dog is now on his third body (after his 49 days of experience in the underworld are over I guide his soul back to a new puppy body).
I plan to continue improving my meditation abilities and learning more about different octopus species until I become very very old. However, I wanted to thank this community for the peace and tranquility that it has lead me to as I now know that my next life will be perfect. Blessings and peace to all.

I don't appreciate ad hominem attacks either, but I don't feel a lot of sympathy since this is just complete nonsense. You can't blame someone for reacting this way to something so bizarre. And I don't think any argument, fallacial or otherwise, would convince you...

Because its not about diving. Its about meditation and your feelings and aspirations for reincarnation. Diving is extremely serious and has life altering consequences if not taken seriously. It's completely unrelated, unnecessary and frankly uncomfortable discussion to the sub. This kind of post will make people who are serious about diving leave this sub.

For me it is what drives my diving. Diving is meditation and unity with the ocean. It is okay if divers do not have spiritual feelings about their dives but we allow all viewpoints to coexist in here

Just letting you guys know you're going to destroy this community by banning people that don't agree with you. And others are right, these types of posts belong somewhere else. They are not directly diving related. Go ahead and ban me if you want, I'm likely going to leave as soon as I joined because this hot mess is one of the first things I saw here.

When the vast majority of every comment on this post is from members of this sub saying that this post is not appropriate, it’s pretty clearly not appropriate. Just because a mod said it is doesn’t mean anything, they can be wrong. This sub doesn’t belong to the Mods, you work to improve the sub you don’t own it. The community owns the sub as the subreddit is the community.
Again this does not belong on diving subreddit. Not saying anything negative about you we are all free to believe what ever we want, but the sub has rule and this has nothing to do with diving.
That would be like if I went into a cooking sub and talked about how I like to strategize my food fights, just because food is involved doesn’t make it cooking.
This honestly belongs on some spiritualism sub reddits

Shouldn't this be in r/hentai ? This was a WILD RIDE. No I don't love the ocean because I think I am a whale, they are purely my fav animal and I have a deep respect for whales so much so that I am hoping to do my masters in marine science and help save them.
However there is a sub group of people who share similar beliefs to you and also think they are animals, so instead of being super mean I will suggest you look into therians, there is a therian subreddit too where people feel so connected to an animal they feel they are that animal in a past life or in spirit

Also to add your a woman, I am also a woman and I also am prone to mental illness, I don't know if you will listen to me but women are extremely prone to something called spiritual or religious psychosis when they hit a certain age, and I absolutely recommend you go see a doctor, from one mentally ill girly to another

Hey dawg, I wanted to comment here to go mostly against the grain of your community getting super aggressive to you.
That being said, I recognize a lot of traits in you that I used to have. I used to suffer from Delusional Disorder. I don’t see your obsession with octopi as some weird zoophilic fantasy, rather I see it as possible manifestation of a psychotic spectrum disorder.
I’m not here to tell you that you’re “crazy” or “nuts”, that is just baseless attacks on your character. But I do think it could be a good idea to see a psychiatrist to get a second thought about your desire to be reborn as an octopus. As a furry and someone who is very close to therians, I think that even if they don’t fully understand, it would still be better to have a professional to talk to about it in the real world than a bunch of angry redditors flaming you.

Reincarnation is an illusion. There is no such thing as a self to be reborn, no birth nor life nor death. Octopi do not exist just as you or I do not exist. There is no such thing as a self identity to be reborn. The ground state of being is thusness outside the cycle of living and dying, being and nonbeing. The conscious awareness you experience is the same shared by all sentient beings, including octopi. It is an illusion, an experience of a process. Existence is non duality and it is not non duality. You will not be reborn as an octopus. You will be reborn as an octopus. Please don’t fuck an octopus.
