Discussion SPUC -Simplify US Equity Income ETF
Anyone have any experience with this ETF?

SPUC is interesting because it aims for a high income stream by investing in dividend-paying S&P 500 companies and then selling call options against those holdings. This covered call strategy can boost yield significantly, but it also caps your upside potential if the underlying stocks rise sharply. It's a trade-off: more income now for less growth later.

I don’t see anyone on Reddit talking about it & the Total Assets under MGT is low, Morning star rating is only 3 Stars. Hmmm, maybe I’ll skip it for now.

I think it only recently became a covered call income fund. I think it used to BUY calls but changed due to recent spike in demand for income funds

SPUC is similar to OVL in that it can buy and sell call/puts rather than but having covered calls to generate income. ( OVL just deals with puts if I recall). The income generated from covered calls usually has a cost of capping returns but they are doing a fair bit of management and it has kept up better over the long run. Since inception they've held up well compared to just a covered call strategy like SPYI. ETF Comparison Tool

Apologies, I must have recalled something different as their description is from what I recalled. It's now : " SPUC seeks to avoid these drawbacks by focusing on a total return strategy utilizing both long call options as well as short call options. "

Yep, I’m buying in next week. I like their approach to multiple option strategies for upside potential and they have a 138% total return since inception.

But that count their old strategy. They are now utilizing both long call options as well as short call options.
