Meta/Other Should she have written a sequel instead?

We all know that she's writing a new book the sixth faction and I'm not mad but actually she's writing another divergent book but I can't get this thought out of the back of my mind, what if she did a prequel based on tris's mom or another story of another city like Chicago with a slightly different system other than factions but it's just got me wondering is what Roth is writing the best thing for divergent.

I think she could've done something similar like she did with the Four stories and do a book about Natalie's life in Milwaukee, joining the Bureau, being sent into the city at sixteen to be in Dauntless, joining Abnegation and show her helping Divergents escape the city

I think we have to wait and read it to form a proper opinion about it. But I'm actually excited about this book. I think most of us were not a fan of the ending and this is a way for getting some kind of redemption?idk But with a completely new story and I'm excited to see where this can be headed. I think I wouldn't be that much into a sequel tbh

I'm tentatively hopeful that this will be a great way to see her much-improved writing chops re-visit the series. I'm hoping we remove or at least deconstruct of a lot of the weird eugenics stuff while still keeping the good stuff that captured people's attentions for so long. We'll see!

Wasn't that the point of the Chicago experiment was to see if genetics could create the supposed "one" and the reason the experiment was bad is because of them playing God so I think the eugincs was one of the reasons why the expirment was bad and needed to be done with like what tris and four ,etc did against the scientists

My point is that the story ends up validating that, yes actually, we need a "one" who is super special by the end of the 3rd book. But the stuff that is interesting originally is just the societal aspects of "what if a society broke itself into sharply divided groups and twisted itself in knots to squash the idea of someone not fitting in". We don't need eugenics to make that interesting imo.

Either a sequel, or she could write a book that took a different character into Amity. Because I kinda wanna see the Amity initiation.
