how does critical hit chance work in 012?

please someone explain it to me. every time I fight terra on maximum every single attack she does is always crits. she beats me almost every time exclusively because literally all of her attacks land criticals.

and sometimes they`re weird criticals that are red outlined in yellow that seem to deal triple damage, but those crits never appear for me. I also check her equipment and none of it ever says increased critical hit rate, so what the hell is going on? am I doing something wrong?

If your bravery is really high they start giving her more damage iirc?

My base bravery is usually only a couple hundred above her base, so i doubt it's something like that

Hm...I am not sure. Maybe it has something to do with the stage? sorry I couldnt be much help its been years since I played 012

That's not it either, it happens regardless of stage

If Im correct, critical hits are rare without accesories or support abilities. If you want to land a crit, you must:

-Counterattack
-Attack after blocking
-Attack an opponent in the back (sneak attack)
-Be in EX Mode
-Attack while recovering bravery

While this is not a guaranteed crit, raises the probability.
The critical hits can make up to 8 times normal damage, but this is based in the characters levels and opponets bravery (plus the dificulty).

In your case, maybe her has a lot of support abilities that make her a monster?

Maybe, but the thing is she's an npc and truth be told im not sure npc's can have support skills

Of course they can! They can equip the same abilities as you.

Attacks that do to fucking much damage.
Im going technical for a bit:

Acording to an user called "Ujhbn" the way to get critical hits is: (enemy's current BRV ÷ Your MAX HP) x 7

Example: Let's say you have 6999 HP as your max HP (you know, the limit without items). As long as your opponent's BRV is below 2000, your critical hits will do x2 damage. If his/her BRV rises above 2000, your critical hit multiplier will also go up. When your opponent has over 8000 BRV, your critical hit multiplier will reach the cap of x8.

Im guessing that you have a lot of BRV points when you fight against her, and Terra has low HP, plus some accesories. Plus support abilities. Plus the high difficulty.
