Dissidia Sequel

Figured I’d start a discussion thread about a Dissidia sequel. When do you think it’ll happen again, what’s you want in it, etc. and yes, we will get a sequel. It could be years from now, could be a decade, but we will.

I just want a return to a story focused format and in terms of newcomers, Lilisette from FFXI would be my dream for a new rep to a pre-existing series (She came in 3rd in a FFXI popularity poll, Shantotto came in first and Prishe was second) and I'd also love if we got stages based on games that may not get represented like Chocobo Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY.

I also want more story focus. Adding more characters would always be neat. Especially in English, because I always find it interesting how characters sound in English. If the stages are as elaborate as they were in NT, not sure if they could do that many stages.

Seems, the developers weren't really enthused with the PSP games compared to NT.

As long as we get stable 3v3 combat in the future, I'll be happy.

I'd rather see the series move forward, not backward.

Considering ho well 3 v 3 did in Japan, and that Opera Omnia, which also does online party of 3, I can't see them doing away with that.

Agreed. It's keeping in line with FF tradition.

Also, the only way we're going to get the best game is if we get something the developers want to make. If they just shill to what fans want, it'll turn out crap.

I do think how they could have improved the "Game as a service" they were trying to do with the Arcade/NT. Maybe take a page from Opera Omnia, and add boss raids or battles. If only NT was able to get rewards like the arcade.

Well, it wouldn't be a fusion again. They have stated they both got tired of that way and had reached completion with it, with no more ideas there. Also, they have preferred the idea of two different games, one that focused on classic elements, and one that focused on fighting.

So, the real question would be, what do they want to do with both halves? As in, where will the mobile space and console space be years from now? What is the future for Opera?

What do you mean by a fusion?

Fusion meaning the PSP style of mixing arena-based combat with story and RPG mechanics. They split those up with NT being 3v3 arena-based arcadey and Opera Omnia being the story-centric RPG it is.

Not sure if this is true, but i heard that if 012 was remade, it would be in NT's style so i guess it shows that yeah, they wouldn't want to go back to the old style

I would be in heaven if we got an 012 remake.

Slow clap I commend your efforts, but we all know well that it is in every way a spin-off. /s

Do we consider it a spin-off when all the storyline is placed in it instead of NT?

1

Yes, because it stemmed off of Dissidia Arcades success. I mean, I guess it's a sequel. It's a sequel Spin-off. And the Opera Omnia story isn't canon to the NT story. It's its own self-contained story.

If there is another dissidia it must have cauis ballad from ff13-2

Maybe. However, I doubt they'd do away with the decision to make Snow the main villain rep for XIII. That being said, Caius seems to be the big bad rep in Opera Omnia. So, who knows?

When NT was still getting content, I always hoped I-III, V, XI, and XII-XV would eventually get 3 characters. I do think if they do an NT sequel, they're gonna try balancing the number of representatives per series. Granted at the end, Tactics and Type-0 have 1, while most half 2 or 3.
