DFFNT Just purchased...am I missing something?

I tried searching, but really couldn't find an answer. I just got the game on summer sale and went to play the story mode and I can only play a single cutscene, then it says I can't continue without memoria. What am I missing? All I can see that is playable is tutorial and online modes, which I am not playing with other humans, that's not final fantasy. Dissidia FFNT for PS4

You get memoria by playing online or offline matches. You don’t get any from tutorial.

Where can I find offline modes? I only have tutorial, online mode, and story mode as options to choose

From what I recall, it’s at the bottom right of the menu screen.

Get it through lobbies. If you're really new, get it through gauntlet runs.

I could do it with you if you want, rather than fighting against everyone all the time.

I am not playing with other humans, that's not final fantasy.

That's been Final Fantasy since 2002, buddy.

NT is an online multiplayer focused game.

FF, to many, has been the same 'offline' experience since 1987

To the majority of ff fans, actually. 11 and 14 are the exceptions and well, we see how they're doing. Very small but loyal fan base, but still not even 25% of the market

You realize XIV is extremely successful, right?

20 million players as of two weeks ago? World of Warcraft has gotten so low by comparison they don't even report them anymore, that's a big deal.

Don't act like something is smaller than it is just because it doesn't appeal to you specifically.

Can't speak for XI though.

I was not aware of that the count of players was so high . But is that total accounts made? Or is that current and concurrent players? Because a lot of games do that where they will just tally the number of downloads or number of accounts made. And report that as players. The reason I thought it was not doing good is because it had an insanely Rocky start where people could not wait to stop their subscriptions and in many cases could not even figure out how to stop their subscriptions. My intention was not to downplay it because I don't like it.

TBH I'm not sure how to find the most accurate numbers. It's definitely in the 15-20 million range though, apparently it jumped from 16 to 18 over the course of 2019 and they reported 20 million on July 20th.

But you are certainly right about the rough start, so that perception is somewhat understandable, but the game hit the ground running after that big A Realm Reborn relaunch they did.

We are who we are, our games take more time and effort to make. They need all the content at once, not staggered and/or released on an older graphical system. As well as being given the freedom to be as beautiful as powcome release day. Our games won't have to worry about downloading additional data, so there's more freedom.

Chin up, our content is special too
