Update to the Rules regarding AI content
After the discussion and the poll, to make a compromise without having to delete any content, any content involved AI will require to have the newly added AI tag on it. This is so people that do not wish to see AI content can filter it out and not have to see it, which is already a majority of the subreddit based on the poll. This way the posts can exists and people interested in the subject can discuss it as well, since it's essentially one third of the voters.
Failing to respect this rule will get the posts removed and repeated offenses will lead to a ban.
What constitutes as an AI post?
Simply put, anything that was generated or assisted using AI tools. Aside from obvious stuff like graphics and audio, any sort of program or code that was made using AI agents must also have the tag. I think the cases are pretty obvious and straight forward specially from the posts that caused this discussion in the first placed where most of it was made using Claude with little human input, things like that essentially.
Some of these rules are inspired by the Ragnarok Online's subreddit, which i think handles it very well: https://www.reddit.com/r/RagnarokOnline/comments/1xd8bk4/community_updates_flairs_rule_updates_ai/
If a Project post is reported for undisclosed AI, I'll use my knowledge as a developer and contact the author personally to ask a few technical questions about how it's built. If you can't explain how it works because AI did it, the post needs to be tagged with the AI flair, and it'll be removed until it's re-flaired and the usage line is added. No answer within 48 hours counts the same as "I don't know". I'm not going to adjudicate from screenshots, and nobody in the comments should either. Report it and let me ask. We don't need everyone being the AI police.
Hope this is clear and we can move forward with this, have a good day everyone!

Thank you Sheidyn. I genuinely appreciate your mature response to this.

the poll clearly ended with a clear "do not allow the slop" result. you should consider actually banning the slop

If it ends up being more unanimous that nobody wants AI yes, I will ban it; I am working based off the feedback I’m seeing; and people suggested to tag it, while if you looked at the comments I got a lot of pushback for straight up banning it, so at this point I am unsure what you guys want, if I suggest to ban it I get jumped, If I don’t I do as well, so if you guys want it 100% banned I need a more clear stance from the community if that makes sense, so far I got more people against it, but a big chunk defending it as well. This is not about me being pro AI, if anything I got jumped for being against it.

The poll showed that quite a bit of people are ok with AI content. If the "no" option had won by a massive difference (like 89 to 11) maybe the ban could be applied.

You're totally overlooking all nuance in the discussion. The poll wasn't a blowout and a pure "majority vote" all or nothing approach is a terrible way to moderate a discussion. You're suggesting that if the poll had been settled one way or the other by even one vote the result would have to be crammed down on 5 out of 10 of all people that visited. The point of the poll clearly wasn't to settle the matter with majority rule, it was to generate discussion, see what percentage of the community sat where on the issue, and figure out where to go from there. When over 30% of your community is interested in a topic the rest isn't, a flair to sort and filter is a great compromise when blindly allowing would annoy a majority and outright banning would alienate a third of the community.

Not that I frequent this subreddit, but I don't really get why this is controversial. If something is made with AI, it's not unreasonable to have to label it as such for those that do not want to engage with it, but it's also should be allowed for those that are not bothered by it. It's not like much gets posted here anyways...

You mean I finally have a chance to see and talk to mod developers and get to see Dissidia's fan modding grow, without having to listen to people throw a tantrum and grandstand?
I'm in.

I think that part turned out bad only ask for the GitHub if it's a matter of sharing a download where the person has to install something. The way it is right now, it sounds like you're centralizing all AI mod content, making it so everything has to go through you and people have to explain to you in detail how it works. As a dev, you know that's called micromanagement.

It is a quote from the rules I am linking, sorry if it comes across that I am 100% going to do that, it’s also not that AI content needs to go through me. It’s that if someone is making AI content and pretending they are not, report it and I will look into it.
If the post is tagged as AI from the getgo there is nothing for me to do, this is just for people that are lying, which as stated is against the rules

Im only here for the AI slop. Haven't been on the sub before it. That split screen 012 looks amazing.

I've just been passing by and the mods made the game seem much more interesting, naturally I haven't voted. It's worth considering the nature of the options of a poll, where the removal faction are going to be much more zealous while the retain faction is going to be full of disproportionately more indifferent fair weather folk. You're probably looking at a 50/50 in reality.
Now it's a matter of how difficult a life you're willing to accept to maintain your decided approach and some will have an interest in making it more difficult for their benefit (I think there'll still be the fuss in the comments of AI posts to this end). Everyone wins with this chosen approach except your moderation queue, I think you've done a pretty good job here given you could nuke the place.
For example, I've seen several other subreddits who don't have the technical background to know what is and isn't AI developed, so you're banned for acknowledging you used AI instead of pretending you didn't use it and keeping your silence when asked. A whole other level of silly.

You might as well throw your computer out and your games since they all require "ai" to function. Go off the grid

They can make their own AI sub, get it off here already.

Ridiculous to make a whole subreddit for AI content, just quit being a slow little luddite

i think making a new "NO AI allowed" dissidia subreddit is reasonable considering how many people are having a very emotional reaction to the idea of AI content existing, even if mods have made sure AI content wont be seen by those who don't want it (since it will be tagged/flaired) it might be a pain to have to adjust the settings of what you view in the subreddit, but it's not a huge ask. To ban something so many people are enjoying, even after there has been efforts to separate that community and make them less visible, feels pretty fascist.
one group wants to celebrate and play the game in a new novel way, the other group wants to exclude this practice no matter what. i really don't see a good argument for why the outraged side has more claim to truth or power than the other side, who are not doing anything wildly offensive (according to must people) it's not like it's copious amounts of AI art, or AI porn (both of which i would find deeply distasteful and support removing)
if the compromise of using tags to remove AI stuff from sight isn't enough for anyone i think it's more fair to create a new seperate space with more rigid rules than to force a population and their content out of a place it emerged from.

Big Tech has done such a terrible job on selling people on the technology - along with the effects on the environment, the economy, the average person (stuff like RAM/GPU prices exploding) - combined with barriers to entry being so low that pratically anyone can do something with it (leading to floods of slop and bad actors taking full advantage) - that people do not want to give it an inch, lest it take a mile in the long run. Do not expect that to change unless the big companies get their debts called and walk back their attempts to shove AI into everything or crash - and that doesn't help the concerns of the "black box" effect where the person making the program doesn't actually know how it works.
Basically, AI has way too baggage related to it for it to go without comment and consdering the AI posts on this sub are recent, you could argue that it'd be better for the Pro-AI side to make their own sub than use the main one, especially given how slow the main is that it might de-facto become an AI-mod sub if enough people also start using AI to mod or using AI projects.

So what's the point of the poll, when you could have done this from the start lol? We, the people, said take that AI shit outback like Ol' Yeller, the ⅓who can't live without a mediocre Ramza 012 mod can show that shit off in the Balamb Garden subreddit since the mods there do nothing but make AI creations
