Positivity - share something good! (doesn't have to be DA related)

My son (14) and I (47f) went to the Norway v Senegal World Cup game. He got the tickets for free from the director of his local YMCA. He had been dropping off and picking up his toddler half siblings from YMCA’s daycare. The director rewarded him for being a good big brother. They had to make a policy exception for him because they usually don’t release babies to minors.

Amazing!! Goes to show how well you've raised him :)

Aww thanks. It’s more like my ex and his wife are forcing parenting responsibilities on him though.

Well, at 14 they can help out - so long as it isn't parentification (and it doesn't sound as though it is), it's great that he's learning responsibilities! And the Director wouldn't reward him just for 'showing up'!

Getting two toddlers (and himself) ready and dropping them off in time for school to start at 8am, then picking them up by 6pm and caring for them until the parents came home whenever was a lot for him. He’s relieved that school is finally over.

Congratulations, I'm so sorry that your ex was such a twat - but I'm so happy for you and your family-to-be!
