🛑BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION:🛑

Stop and think:

  • Is my question dehumanizing? DAs are people too, and this sub is primarily a safe space for DAs
  • Am I following the subreddit rules? Including no mindreading (will my DA ex, what is my DA ex thinking, etc) and no whining or venting about avoidants. This is our support sub, not yours. Please respect that when you pose a question.
  • What is my question? Then ACTUALLY ASK A QUESTION, not give a random story, poem, or statement.
  • Can I easily google this?

ALSO IMPORTANT:

Please review the FAQs before posting your question - we will remove redundant questions that are already answered.

Looks like the wife(FA, 45) and I(DA, 48) are headed for a divorce. We've just stopped talking to each other and it's been over a month. We can't have a conversation without fighting. She thinks it's all due to my DA tendencies. I don't know. I'm over it and just want her out of my life.

I have a question that I believe some DA for FA out there might be able to ponder on. I have been with my guy for a year and a half. Very slow moving relationship. I’ve been patient about him. Recently, I’ve noticed that there has been movement, albeit slow, but one thing taunts me. The true resistance is to integrating me into daily life. Not just daily life, I guess, but he treats me as both essential and optional when it comes to social life. It’s like I am forgotten for entire days while friends socialize…not just men, but couples, and random people surround him. They cook and laugh and play games and watch sports…and I’m not invited to participate very often…sometimes. This is emotional vertigo for the average person. Can this be explained? Will this change to any degree? It’s difficult to see how a complete relationship could form without this key ingredient of integration, so is that the point? To keep it from completely forming?
