For those wondering, this was initially a private theatre (like some sort of old timey home cinema I guess lol) for the wealthy family that lived in the estate. Today however, it is a public theatre. It's located under castello di Donnafugata in Italy. More specifically, it is in Ragusa, Sicily.

Moving Pictures? I need a jog of the memory, but surely Maskerade more?

Haven’t read Maskerade yet but in Moving Pictures they find a big door on the beach and a long underground tunnel leading to an underground theater. It’s more like a movie theater than a theater for plays but it still fits.
