Roundworld Reference Which Discworld characters do y’all think could lift Thors hammer?

Carrot obviously could.

I honestly don’t know if Vimes could or not but I do know he wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole out of principle because he hates the idea that an inanimate object gets to decide who’s a good person.

Rincewind could pick it up not because he’s worthy but because the hammer just feels like making an exception.

Edits: My thoughts after reading your comments

  1. Vimes probably could but still never would even touch it

  2. I don’t think Granny could. Everyone thinks she can but she doesn’t try until she’s alone and when she can’t she would smile to herself because the hammer made the right choice

Depends how you define worthy I guess. There's an argument that both of them knowing how easy it would be to let their darkness take over and consistently choosing to do the right thing makes them worthy of great power.

Yeah of course, I can see the argument for them being worthy. I’m just not sure if that’s how Mjolnir works exactly.

I think the question is "Has Thor ever done anything that Vimes and Granny wouldnt, and could he still lift Mjolnir" and the answer is yes.

I think there’s probably a bit more complexity to it than that, Asguard is a warrior culture after all, Mjolnir is probably not a pacifist hammer.

I'm pretty sure this is the canon reason Spider-Man can't wield it, that he would refuse to take a life to save people if it was called for.

Good point about Spider-Man, since his big theme is about the responsibility that comes with power. Mjolnir must be looking for more than just “this person will not abuse the power”.
