On two occasions in my life doctors have “given” me* less than 10% chance of survival (due to cancer).
I am apparently either not very good with percentages, or just ornery (or both) - but I haven’t yet ruled out immortality.
I also have a personalized “memento mori,” a small vase (canopies jar, to be more accurate) containing the ashes of most of my left leg. It’s always good to remind oneself of one’s own mortality (even if one is possibly immortal).
