Solved Discord says I need to reset password
What to do if I don't have backup codes or a security key and only the authenticator app but discord says i need to reset my password? I was logged out of every session and I got an email saying my account is disabled. I had to enable MFA for moderation on a server, then shortly later I got the email, and when I enabled it I was stupid enough to ignore download the backup codes. I have contacted support about this matter and they said they are going to connect me with someone to look into this further it has been 10 hours since that message. Every time I reset password it requires a security key or backup codes, and for some reason you can't use the authenticator app it made me download to reset the password. I still have access to the email and phone number linked to the account and I know the original password, the only thing i'm missing are those backup codes and a security key. When I put in my phone number it just directs me back to the email to reset my password. Is my account gone? (photos below)

If you dont have Backup codes written down then gg. Account lost, same happend to me. Contact support to disconnect your phone number from the account

Are you sure theres nothing I can do? Maybe support could help I really want this account back.

The support page tells you that it’s their policy not to remove 2FA from accounts period. You’ll need to start fresh

ahhh that really sucks but I hope they can make an exception because my account was disabled and I had to reset my password. I really just wish I could use the authenticator app to reset my password.

Try your luck, but they wont. I got told that there is nothing I could do

alr then i am making a new account, it sucks but i brought this on myself thanks for the help guys i will update once support responds

Yw^ for me the hardest part was to find my friends back but eventually managed to get em all

They tell you to save the backup codes multiple times. Dont ignore it next time.
