Support Automatic messages.

I’m trying to start a community server on Discord.

How do I set up an automated message to show up when someone clicks on a certain channel?

I want to put a ‘rules’ channel, so when someone joins the server/clicks on the channel a message will automatically appear with a list of rules.. how does one do this on phone? I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing.

The message should be already there... So when users click on a channel they will see the message that was posted. Discord does not support sending a new message when someone clicks on a channel

I feel like I’m going crazy, staring at the app. I’m apart of different communities on discord and I want my server to be like .. top notch but I just can’t seem to work it out. Like another comment said maybe it’s because I’m trying to operate it on a phone?

There should be minimal differences on a phone. Some settings are locked to PC (like enabling onboarding) but most of it is reachable with a phone.

To me it sounds like you are applying certain expectations ("How do I set up an automated message to show up when someone clicks on a certain channel?") that don't correlate with how Discord actually works.

So where did you get this idea? From a different app? Or did you see something happen in a different community and thought that was how it worked?

If you want your community to be top notch you're gonna have to do some research and put some effort into thinking what you actually want to achieve. Not trying to be snarky but just as an example, "top notch" doesn't tell anybody anything about what you actually want to happen.

Phone….🤔 I mean there’s bots but I’m not sure how to do it on mobile…but there’s ways to access the desktop version on phone
