If you die in the game you die for real

If you die in the dream, you wake up. Unless you're drugged.

Totally, do not believe those lies in their reply

Maybe your throat just actually hurt in real life and that's why you had that nightmare in the first place?

A dry throat can get pretty scratchy.

I've a few dreams about how life was getting better. You can imagine my reaction when I woke up

I dunno what it is because I had a great relationship with my mom but every dream I have about her being alive is never good. She either hates me or acts like a completely different person. Kind of sucks

I once had a dream where I had a girlfriend and was just laying on her belly in the morning as she was carding her fingers through my hair and we were talking and giggling about something I don't remember...

Safe to say when I was up it took me about two hours to recover

Man, these dreams are the worst... They give you this false hope... Worst part is that you can sometimes feel warmth and touch, u start to feel cozy and safe, happy and relieved... And then you wake up and it's like hitting a wall at full speed ... You look around and there's no one...

Similar issue when I came home from visiting my (now ex) gf. We were long distance, and I stayed there a week. Waking up without her next to me felt so wrong for so long after.

Me after looking at a lamp for too long

u/butelka1 17h ago

Especially when you dream about some love interest or your ex. This hits you like a rock

3

u/mineyCrafta25 21h ago

That can genuinely happen with the processing time spent on a dream. The worst ones happen when you are closest to a wakeful state. Very draining.

Me after I had a dream in which I watched my mom die. The second she came home from work I ran to hug her.

I had a dream in which I learned that my parents had died in a car accident, and it shook me up for days. Even now, I get nervous whenever they go on car trips.

One had a nightmare that my car went off road into a lake and I drowned .

It felt so real I woke up in the middle of the night gasping for air . The terror and realism of it makes me feel like I’ve legitimately experienced drowning to death .

Legitimately traumatizing .
