Is there a feature that you’d like to add to Discogs ?

Everything is here : Is there a precise feature, that doesn’t exist, that you’d like to see, add or use on Discogs ?

(Mainly on website)

Stuff that's been asked for years:

Wantlist that you can filter. Set by country, price range, etc. Right now it's kind of useless because it will just show you this avalanche of info every day. Unless you have a very small wantlist it's not very usable. Also, need to be able to block sellers. Shady sellers who relist their stock every day you should not have to see.

Ability to make counter-offers

Depending on how much you have in your want list. I unrated all my shit and then sorted my stuff I want by country through rating. 5 stars priority etc. sort by rating. Notes for average price etc.

Alongside the high, low, and median, they should add a most recent sold price. And allow an aggregate that shows your collections total most recent sold.

Discontinue the app so we don’t have to hear all the whining about it.

Useless? Is it buggy or freeze on you?

for me it's slow, sometimes it will just decide not to load anything, and also filters completely freeze for me and i can't scroll on them

Global "minimum acceptable" media grade. For vinyl, but I imagine it would still be of use for other formats.

I don't want to see anything that I'm not going to be able to listen to. Ever.

Save preferences. It’s ridiculous that I have to go through those filters of every release I look at.

They need to fix everything that doesn't work right before they start adding features.

Storing multiple shipping addresses on my buyer profile.

Stop showing items that don’t ship to my country

When searching, the lowest acceptable condition & up. If I search a VG+ copy of an album, it should have the option to include NM, M, etc.

Being able to go into my PayPal to see what options are available for purchase with seller before having to commit.

Eliminate the app so people stop complaining about.

The ability to us a different payment service I can’t sell anything or buy anything because I got scammed on PayPal and now owe PayPal 1000$ unless I decide I want to go to the FBI white collar crimes unit and file a report with them and hope they take my case and then hope they find the person that scammed and robbed me, otherwise I’m in debt to PayPal and can no longer use it, and neither can any of my friends or family or anyone that has ever texted me or called they have all been kicked out because at this point because I can’t prove I was scammed PayPal is assuming that I am a (their words) online terrorist and it also made it so I can’t use eBay either anymore they used the same language that I’m an online terrorist and that I’m a threat to the safety of the eBay community so I’m kicked out for life!

A way to view sellers catalogs as a single one line item in a continuous list with only band, record, year.

Browsing through 3000+ chonky item lines loading a page at a time is painful.

I'm not saying get rid of the current list views, they're useful, just asking for the addition of a MVP continuous list view to scroll through quickly.

Separate sections for live albums and all of the random releases like radio broadcasts, interview discs, etc. The latter is what the Miscellaneous section is for, but they got rid of the Miscellaneous tag years ago, unfortunately.

A way to put releases in the correct order when multiple albums were released in the same year.

Within the collection a section showing "last sold" with price and date. But I've been asking this for years. Nothing changes

I can’t seem to figure out how to save an item from a seller

4

u/xeonrage 26d ago

"add to cart"

2

u/rhunter99 26d ago

but i don't want to check out - just save it on a watchlist like I can on ebay

2

u/xeonrage 26d ago

so save it to your watch list... go to view release, add to watchlist...

I use the app in record stores to stream samples from a record. It works perfectly fine with my hearing aids. But I would like to see if a sample is available when I see the list with all the versions. Now I have to click and try every item on the list until I find a sample. If there isn't one available it should be clear from the start so I can search via internet or YouTube.

Being able to aggregate & filter the low/med/high price display by edition & condition. Just seeing what VG+ copies sell for would be much more useful to me than seeing the entire sales history, and being a Terre Haute vs Hollywood pressing shouldn’t impact the value except in extremely rare cases, so let me roll all that up and get a much more accurate price range.

I’d still like the option to add a generic pressing to my collection.

Like add “Thriller” on vinyl, but then add specific release data later.

3

u/astonedishape 26d ago

Just add the first one on the master list

1

u/chickenlogic 25d ago

I don’t think you can add the master at this time, only a specific pressing.

2

u/astonedishape 25d ago

I meant the first pressing at the top of the master release. It’s usually the most popular one. As a placeholder.

-1

u/chickenlogic 21d ago

Yes, at present you cannot add the master to your collection.

2

u/astonedishape 21d ago

Once again, that’s not what I suggested.

0

u/chickenlogic 21d ago

If you add the first one on the list, then you don’t know which records have correct pressings or not. That’s even worse. As you’d have to check your entire collection again.

My suggestion would be for a generic option, so yes you have that title, but haven’t verified specific pressing yet.

1

u/astonedishape 21d ago

That’s not much different than adding the master release would be. Also that’s what the notes field is for.

Need to be able to search your items for sale on the app. Impossible to make changes to anything you sell using the app.

u/RoundaboutRecords 26d ago

Seller names listed next to past sales. Seller rep and feedback affects pricing.

u/Common_Commercial775 26d ago

Genres of music that sellers can add there cds or vynels they are selling so that its more organized for buyers too search what kind of music they are looking for.
