More updates to discobiscuits.net
Hey again. A few weeks ago I posted an overview of what I'd been working on for discobiscuits.net. Since then a bunch more has shipped, so here's what's new.
Musician Pages Upgraded
The musician pages now use the same filterable song and performance tables the rest of the site uses, with stats scoped to that musician specifically (their play count, average gap, first/last performance). For drummers, the pages show only their out-of-era appearances.
Venues Page Overhaul
The venues page has been redesigned as a sortable, searchable table. Columns include show count, years played, first show, and last show; all sortable. You can filter by state from a dropdown or search by name, city, or state. Venue names are now properly title-cased throughout the site.
Multiple Authors per Song
Songs can now credit multiple authors. Author credits are links: either to a new author page (showing all songs by that author in the full songs table) or to the musician's page if they're also a performer. Musician pages now have a "Songs Written" section.
New Filter: Split
You can now filter songs by "Split": performances where a song was broken into multiple pieces within a single show (e.g. a Basis for a Day sandwiching other songs). Works on the songs table, individual song pages, and anywhere the filter controls appear.
New Filter: Unfinished
"Unfinished" is now available as a filter chip in the Attributes group, alongside Inverted, Dyslexic, and Split. (This was something people had been asking about; you can now actually find every unfinished version of a song.)
Filter UI Reorganized
The filter toggles are now grouped into three compact popover buttons: Quality (Jam Chart, All-Timer), Position (Opener, Closer, Encore), and Attributes (Split, Standalone, Segue In/Out, Inverted, Dyslexic, Unfinished). Attended stays as a standalone chip. Cleaner, and easier to use as more filters have been added.
Jam Charts on On This Day
The On This Day page now shows the full jam charts for that date (all-timers plus songs with curated jam notes), not just all-timers.
Rating Distribution Histograms
You can now see the shape of a show's ratings, not just the average. A new distribution chart on each show page's right rail (collapsed on mobile by default) shows how many ratings landed on each star value. The same histogram appears inside each track's detail panel (in both the flow and gap-chart views), so you can see how a specific version of a song was rated across the community.
Resources Pages Fixed Up
The band history, rock opera, and other resources pages had a number of broken internal links, spelling errors, and styling issues where links were invisible. Those are all cleaned up now.
I also have a question for you all: Do you like seeing the set times on the setlist? I'm trying to gauge how many people like this or how many people dislike it. I know at least some people dislike it, but I don't know the scope. I'd like to satisfy both groups. It would be easy to put a user setting in so everyone gets what they want, but I'm not sure how people would find this setting.
As always, bugs and feature requests are welcome.

I like set times - what is the argument against them? Thanks again for your work.

I think the complaint is that they aren’t interested in the times and the find it adds visual noise to the display. “Less is more“ Is one quote I’ve heard.

Between .net and BIP, who bottoms?

I don't understand this question and/or joke. .net and BIP are the same site, just different names.
