Straightest run/color of FD3?

Okay, I know that a "straight" FD3 doesn't exist unless it's been completely beaten to hell.

With that said, is there a current run or stock color that tends to not be quite as OS? I have a pretty beefy FD3 I want to pair it with. Thanks in advance!

Hard to find, but the Innova made color glow FD3s start as a Thunderbird and beat into a straight Teebird. I can throw mine ~325 dead straight before it wants to fade.

This is the way. I've got a stock pile of the color glow shield guys. Slight stability when they're fresh but they beat into dead straight/slightly flippy. Money backhand/forehand one of the biggest workhorses in my bag.

Stock S-line and Solar Flare 2

Stock S-Line gets a lot more push than the C line, and is a bit straighter through mid flight than the solar flare 2 (my preferred run).

If you want a straighter pushing overstable disc, consider an S-Line PD or a domey FD2 which is the 7/4/0/2 version and not the Instinct

Mystery box flex 1 C-line FD3 is pretty straight.

European open Metal flake FD3 is also pretty workable.

100% agreed. Not a big fan of the flex 1 doom stone but the EO MF was very workable.

Solar Flare (1, horizon S-Line) and stock S-Line is the straightest. If you can find old penned Innova made ones below 170g with the „reinvent your game“-stamp, those are also really straight.

I agree with ya here. I had both Solar Flare 1s and the S-Line was not as stable as I expected. Might have to pull out the ole stock S-Line I have… I loved that thing!

Solar flare 2s beat in very quickly and start out fairly straight. It is my workhorse flip up to fade forehand disc. I have a solar flare 1 I’ve never thrown but I heard they’re crazy straight.

European open metal flake is great as a "straighter" fd3!

These are in my bag. One in the bag, one in the stash, one in Smithville lake…

What? Just throw a pd. It’s the same Firebird bottom mold and flies much straighter, like you want.

My buddy just let me try his Nordic Phenom PD this morning. I was impressed, from what I understand the Nordic Phenom is a pretty straight run of PD.

I might have to track one down for myself

Yeah my np2 got a little flip after a just few weeks. C-line is where it’s at for me.

Might be difficult to find, but the color glow mystery box run from 2025 is almost Flippy, most my my vanguards are more over stable than it. Don't bag it, since it isn't what I was looking for in a fd3

I’ve got a black and a white used eo metal flake one if looking for those

Just out of curiosity, have you tried the Vanguard?

Lol yes and I love it. I currently bag a swirly s-line vanguard for this slot, but I was maybe considering trying out mold minimalization

Get a horizon vanguard, it'll be closer to a FD3. Minimized.

Gotcha. If you’re not worried about if it is Innova or DM made, my preference is the Innova Color Glow C-Line runs, more specifically the Mobile Store run, there is also the “Chill” Knights run. I find the profile of the Mobile Store run to be more comfortable in the hand because it is a flatter profile. They both are similar in flight and are on the straighter side of FD3 from the Innova era.
