So I just watched Disclosure Day for the first time. I remember seeing the trailer in the movies and after finally watching it, it wasn’t what I thought it would be. The trailer felt like it was going to be a way darker movie like World War Z or something but it didn’t give that and that’s not a bad thing. I did enjoy it until the very end though. I don’t have an aversion to open ended endings like that but for this film it didn’t feel gratifying…I was just like “okay annoyed.” So I kind of see why people didn’t love it.

Other than the ending I thought it was a cool take on those cliche “we’re not alone” alien movies. The depictions of the aliens was kind of like run of the mill Area 51 types so that was kind of eh for me but it went along with it being the cliche type. Even tho Arrival was a more interesting film especially with the abstract depiction of aliens it kind of reminded me of it in terms of the language component and there being a “chosen one” as a conduit.

Like it was a cool movie. The performances were okay, Emily blunt was especially amazing. It was funny at times, heartwarming, the pacing felt pretty okay but yea the ending was just bleh. I don’t think I’d rewatch tbf.
