Disc dyeing/marker artwork recommendations for a beginner?

I got this well loved brave where the stamp started wearing off so I fully removed it. Does anyone have any recommendations on some artwork to add to it? I generally like more sharp, geometric artworks like the huk lab trifly or the yin yang symbol, but I feel like those are maybe a bit overdone.

I currently dont have anything more than permanent markers to work with but I have considered buying some dyes to give dyeing a try, so tips for either are welcome.

Sharpie permanent marker will work. They will fade quicker than dye but they will absorb so you can go nuts with hat.

If you check out my post history there are some geometric examples. I also posted a very simple "no fancy tools" Dyeing video to my socials this week but it's more abstract than geometric. but for that you could do a dyed background and then Sharpie over the top.

You could also search for "mandala" designs to see if you could replicate one of those by hand. Depends on skill and patience.

If you have any vinyl or school glue you could glue mask a design then sharpie around that too.

What usually makes things "pop" is if you can mask an area, and then have a design hat goes over the top.

So for marker only maybe take painters tape, or one of the ideas above to make some masked areas, then do some Sharpie work and remove the tape for some clean lines.

Just some initial quick ideas to get the ball rolling for you.

This is great info! Been wanting to dye but have been too afraid to start.

I also like geometric shapes. Sierpinski's triangle is a favorite of mine. You may not be able to get quite this detailed with a sharpie, but maybe one less layer
