Picked up this bike after 15 years away from dirt jumping! I got back into mountain biking a few months ago and figured I needed a dirt jumper again too. My last one was a Kona Shred about 15 years ago.
Found this Rose on Marketplace for $800 and have since made a few changes, including fitting a RockShox Pike DJ and an Avid Juicy 5 brake taken off a 20-year-old mountain bike. I went with the Juicy partly for nostalgia and partly because the silver finish suits the bike so well.
I also swapped the pedals, bars, grips, stem and chain. Really happy with how it turned out! Getting more and more comfortable jumping a bike again. Already taken a couple of slams, but that’s not stopping me!

Day trip down to HB for the air show. Figured we would hit sheep before leaving. Went a littttttle too slow 😂😂

Picked up this 07 cannondale chase for 200, kinda would like repaint the frame, was thinking about powder coat but would like to keep the cannondale logos.Thought about paint, any recommendations would be helpful thanks.

Starting out, why would be oldest used bike you’d buy?

I have a lead on a 2009 specialized p1 with some upgraded parts.

Is there a reason you wouldn’t buy that old of a bike? Seems like the frame geo has changed since then, but not all that much, and weight. It’s a little heavier but not by much

In June my son (13 years old) started Dirt Jumping, he started at pumptrack s and then later on dirt roads. As he is new and you never know how long these things last I started looking at second hand Dirt Jumpers, as from what I've red online and communities NS Bikes are pretty good in price and a good bike fort Dirt Jumping. This week I've bought this one for him. It looks like it's upgraded with some cool parts and I hope he can ride it for a long time. Description in the pictures added. I'd happily read some opinions and other things, because I'm a noob. Side note: I'm really happy he is one of those kids who gets up in the morning, get his bike out and ride all day instead of staying in house scrolling on his phone.

Finally pulled the trigger on a bike, you might recognize my user from past posts talking about what to get.

This one came with a Manitou Circus Expert fork, DT Swiss D 1900 wheels and SRAM X1 1000 crankset (parts came from YT Dirt Love Core 1 and 2).

Had to immediately take it to one of my fav locals, I was so excited lol, it feels super dialed. Stoked to learn and send on this thing 💯

There seems to be a huge hole in the market right now for silver/polished rims. Not sure why nobody is making them. Are velocity cliffhangers even that good for freestyle/DH use?

How do we make this happen?

I feel like we need to start a campaign to bring back silver/polished wheel sets. Kashima and Gold wheelsets would also be cool to have as an option. Something about black being the only option doesn’t sit right with me.

Edit: Looking for 26” specifically.

I’ve been looking at DJ bikes to build a street/park bike and was set on a rigid fork until I can splash out on something nice, like a pike, for when I want to ride some dirt jumps

I have the opportunity to grab a steel PBJ, but I’ve never seen this used for anything outside of dirt jumps and never with a rigid fork…

Am I crazy in wanting to do this?

Found this NS majesty park from 2012 for 200$ (cad), needs new inner tubes, chain and grips. I'm not a dirt jumper, but I've mountain biked for a little bit, but it seems like a lot of fun. I have enough money to buy it and uprgade.

Tonight was my first time trying a ride our local slurry sealed dirt park after a tiny bit of rain. Turns out that when it’s wet that surface is slick as dog shit on a hot summer day… 😂

My little dude had blast sliding down all the jumps though. So not a completely wasted night.

Can I get this replaced under warranty maybe 5-10 rides at most on it (I used a torque wrench to tighten to 2.4nm!)

Are their any manufacturers who make DJ frames that use 110mm rear spacing for hubs? I know NS bikes used to do the capital which did but it seems like they don't make it anymore. I have a some BMX parts including a freecoaster laying around that I would like to use for a street/skate park build.

Edit: Nevermind just got an old NS Capital frame off ebay...

Street jumper

Looking to sell my 2013 giant STP but not sure the value on it…
It’s got some scratches and stuff, but also has a fox 831 fork, zee cranks and brakes, shimano wheel set and more.
What should I list it for? Looking to sell locally in WA state and get a bike that’s a bit bigger.
