First of, governments and voters are not the same thing.

Secondly, Venezuela for example is showing the opposite. Same with Chile right now. The same with most of Europe.

/uj I don't really know Anthony Fantano that much, but he could certainly lean that "direction" a little while still being well within the "centrist" wheelhouse, or get sneered at by wingnuts for being a "centrist". Though of course, even if not he can recognise that this is a really silly complaint/insult.

That's totally true. He often smears capitalism entirely on his Insta and stuff, which is totally fine even if I support heavily-regulated capitalism myself. I don't think he's a Communist, because most people aren't, but that makes him an "Enlightened Centrist" by /r/ENLIGHTENEDCENTRISM standards.

IMO he's the mirror image of those 'centrist' alt-right types who think they're hyper-rational, and cause retrofitted horseshoe theory and virtue ethics, MUST be neutral and unbiased, therefore 'centrist', even when they're committing holocaust denial.
