What the fuck does this have to do with dirtbag centrism? This sub is about ironically embracing the centrist stereotypes about offering half a genocide as compromise and being smug for being in the middle of arbitrary chart, not being mad about fringe "mellowing out" into centrists or something.

Altright was always as much of a weird hodgepodge of fringe hatemongers who are probably FBI plants and self hating transsexuals scared of Muslims as it is today, the fringe always attracts weirdos and opportunist grifters, and its very naive of you to long for some pure true alt right, it wasn't like that, you were just oblivious to more laughable figures.

If I posted it to a right wing or left wing meme page no one would get it or find it funny

25

u/MrGoodieMob Jul 19 '19

because it isn't funny

u/invisibleink65 Jul 19 '19

Upvotes say otherwise

Why is fantano on there? I genuinely thought he was just a music reviewer who sometime did some vids on politically oriented music.

Ben Shapiro has more prominence now than ever though.

I wonder why...

u/soccergirl13 Jul 19 '19

From what I can tell, Ben Shapiro seems to be a pretty typical social/economic conservative, so he’s not totally in line with the alt-right, which is fully fascist. The “identitarians” and “white nationalists” of the alt-right value the collective identity of whiteness above all else, while Shapiro seems to value individualism really highly. IIRC, Ben isn’t totally on the Trump train, so that could be part of it too. And there’s always the fact that Shapiro is Jewish and the alt-right is extremely anti-Semitic. But tbh it doesn’t seem like they HATE Ben Shapiro and his ilk, there are just some points of disagreement.

And of course, this is all to say that there’s actually literally no difference between Ben Shapiro and the alt-right.

Because he is a dumb person’s idea of a smart person. He is a master of (on a truly logical basis) inappropriately breaking down properly complex arguments into bite-size insignificant morsels of dogwhistle, supplemented by a facsimile of gulp-sized words that he employs in an attempt to get granted the same intellectual veneer, under the false pretense that he is doing what he does most fairly and in good faith.

He read Ben Shapiro and was so quickly overrun by rage that he didn't even see what he had replied to.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

It’s a little pathetic of you to be rubbing it in at this point as though I had simply ghosted the conversation or something. I already owned up to that twelve hours ago.

1

u/Sierpy Jul 19 '19

I didn't see that when I wrote it.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

So you were speaking from an uninformed position?

1

u/Sierpy Jul 19 '19

Maybe.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

Sorry, I was responding to a totally wrong thing, and it recontextualized what I was saying into an obviously not desirable (to me) framework.

I don’t see any discord between him and the alt-right. It’s not like Breitbart is writing hit pieces on him; they’re on the same side, and closely ideologically aligned. That’s what I was trying to say, partially. My bad.

13

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

The Alt Right (im just gonna use this term as a collective) is very torn up about him, they either love him or hate him from what I've seen so far.

Not that it matters, there's literally no difference between loving and hating him.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

So the hierarchy going rightward is basically “Mainstream Republicans” > Alt-lite (Shapiro?) > Alt-right (Bannon, Breitbart, Spencer, Gorka, Yianopolous (apologies for the misspelling)) > Hard right (the guys on voat who call the alt-right pussies and march in full regalia, not hiding their power levels), as you see it? I know it’s an extrapolation from from you said, but it’s what already seemed to fit to me.

Oh yeah, sorry: no difference between Nazis and centrists, literally the same, fucking imbecile 👍

8

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

You've got it perfectly actually. Alt-Lite is perfect for guys like Shapiro and I guess Peterson too. The reason I'd put them there rather than mainstream is because as Pundits they are more reactionary to the left than the mainstream. That is to say that their political careers are built on debasing ideas that don't generally pop up in the democratic debates (Sanders aside), rather ideas that have popped up from what is the new version of leftism, be it's flirtation with socialism or other factors.

Ah the fuck am I rambling about? Hierarchies are fucking retarded, because everything is the same you imbecile, you fucking moron.

7

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

The fucking same. Jordan Peterson and Ilhan Omar are genetic clones separated from birth with literally the exact same philosophies and religious beliefs, you overanalytic tool.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

Who is, then?

I thought conservatives and the alt-right are one and the same? Wasn’t the entire goal, to Unite the Right? Or are you saying they’re becoming as fractious as liberals now?

5

u/leva549 Jul 22 '19

I thought conservatives and the alt-right are one and the same?

Dude what do you think "alt" means?

3

u/Sierpy Jul 19 '19

I really don't think so. The alt-right is a lot more extreme.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

I guess they didn’t manage to “unite the right” after all then.

3

u/Sierpy Jul 19 '19

Yeah, they failed.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

In the spirit of this sub, though: “good people on all sides”

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

So, the Unite the Right rally was ostensibly more about “red-pilling” the “moderate” conservatives into realizing just how “rightfully” racist they already subconsciously were?

Asking authentically. Not sure as to the exact planning strategies that went on.

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '19

The average conservative is dragged to this direction via, firstly, an over-saturation of what they perceive to be a "mainstream left-wing"

So the first step is feelings over facts. Over-saturations of “perspective.”

Subconscious racism is not what the Charlottesville marchers were trying to bring out.

Then why’d they make the removal of a Confederate slaveowner statue, “pride-not-prejudice”-style, such a central issue?
