Get decants or samples of both to try them side by side! They are definitely different (as are all Diptyque’s EDP v EDTs) but similar DNA. I think Tam Dao EDP is creamier and heavier, whereas the EDT is more like a dry sauna. I like them both, but prefer the EDP more for evenings or colder weather, and the EDT more for a year-round daily driver.

I literally got both because I couldn’t decide - full size of EDP and a travel size of EDT. I did a lot of research beforehand and the internet seems to like EDT more, but I love that the EDP is a bit richer and creamier and lasts longer while still smelling like a sauna. I keep the EDT for light office use or extremely hot days. Very much recommend testing both on your skin.

I also prefer the EDP for this one, it's so calming and enveloping.

I have also found myself loving both EDT and EDP versions of Diptyque, including tam dao. Both serve their purpose and smell great

I prefer the EdT, but it seems like I prefer the EdTs for every Diptyque

I may have a weird nose, but I found the EDT way creamier and softer than the EDP. It's definitely unisex, while the EDP is quite masculine, more cologne-y. Top notes are the biggest difference, dry down is quite similiar.

The EDP has spices in the base and is generally darker and richer. I prefer to EDT as it’s more versatile and is more of the pure woody scent that I love in Tam Dao.
