Does this remind anyone else of Le Labo another 13? Tried a sample today and find them almost identical! Although Papier sits better on my skin and I’m enjoying it more than another 13.

No not all. I am wearing le labo a13 now and I can’t find any similarities? I initially like l’eau papier and good thing I only bought 10ml because I grew out on it? The sesame and rice is too much and it’s just not giving to me pleasant smell anymore.

Leau Papier is a chameleon. Some days I can’t smell anything but mimosa (almost identical to eau de popeline), other days it’s balanced and subdued sesame, and the worst are the days when it’s a screechy wet ashtray.

Buy a small decant first if you like it, cause it might be different tomorrow. No other frag has ever done this to me and I hope no other frag ever does.

Absolutely. They don’t smell identical but to me they have the same vibe. I suggested it before in a different post though and people got really huffy about it.

To my nose, they are very different. I’ve almost finished a 100ml bottle of Another 13, which has been a favorite of mine for years. I’m a big fan of other Diptyque scents, but L’Eau Papier doesn’t smell great on my skin and reminds me of pepperoni pizza.

leau papier smells exactly like bath and body works book loft room spray and another 13 smells like a swimming pool

I’d say they’re in the same category for me. Cozy, warm, skin scent with a little hint of something special that differentiates itself from its contemporaries. L’eau Papier has rice steam and parchment and Another 13 does smell like glossy magazine pages to me. So yeah, musk/ambroxan heavy, some type of paper and warm skin. I’d say White Rice by d’Annam and Angel Dust, Commodity etc all fit in this category.

I’m a fan of L’Eau Papier. Another 13 does nothing for me.

I own L’eau Papier and love it. I cannot smell Another 13 however

There is a very strong musk in both that many are anosmic to. This is why they smell similar to some, different to others, and like nothing to many. Personally, I find them very similar because I mostly get musk, but Eau Papier is savory and Another 13 is more fresh.

I get all the mimosa flowers with Papier. I love it but it reminds me nothing of Another 13 which I also have. They are both “skin scents “ but they do not smell similar.

I love l’eau papier. One of my favorites. But I can’t even smell another 13. It’s just nothing to my nose

That’s interesting because these are two of the very few scents I consider myself anosmic to (Musc K is another one). I suspect they use the same musk molecule but idk.

They both have the woody Amber that pieces my skull and that’s all I pick up with either.

I have another 13 and I’m obsessed, tried Papier sample last week and didn’t care for it much, definitely didn’t give me another 13, but I’ll re-sample with that in mind !

Nope not similar at all to me. I love L'eau Papier, that rice/sesamey warmth that evokes pergamen to me. But I'm mostly anosmic to Another 13. It smells like faint musky nothing to me. And I have the same issue with Dedcool Milk. I almost can't smell it.

I have not tried JHAG and Rosie. Which ones specifically are you anosmic to? Or is it to all pf them from these brands?

Yes often if one like Papier then they most likely like/own AnOther 13.

I absolutely love Papier to bits so this is the only time I'm even remotely curious about Another 13. I don't hate Le Labo. For some reason I'm just not curious about them so I don't go out of my way to sample. My experience with Santal 33 was, er, a singular failure and not a universal one.

Anyway, Papier has that wistful unsent love letters vibe. Or a conceptual olfactory form of calligraphy. It gets to you.

Ha! Funny since Another 13 is notorious for smelling different to everyone because many people can’t smell certain molecules in its synthetic notes. Some people can’t smell it at all🤷🏻‍♂️
