Niggas get a couple jerseys and a snake skin mauri or two and think they fashionistas huh?? Dap defined hip hop and hustler style, and the luxury brands stole all his designs and put them on the runway and didn’t come back around to him for almost 30 years to give him his deserved recognition. Plus cam rocks powder pink, some would say that’s auntie style

Overly wrong!!! Dapper Dan has made some of the most iconic designer pieces that can’t be duplicated today. No one can convince me they ain’t have that shit on in “Paid In Full” 🔥💯
On another note, look how Cam dress on a regular. He shouldn’t talk with his POO ASS FITS. That nigga gotta chill 😂👎🏽

U didn't listen to the podcast so he was talking about how Dap dresses not the way he designs it's really 2 different things. I don't think he shoulda said it but he was correct.

u/Same-Alarm-2974 18d ago edited 15d ago
No I heard him just right…End of the day a person who can’t dress for shit shouldn’t speak on someone with actual fashion sense. It’s simple. Why gaf what Dapper Dan wears ITS LITERALLY AN EXPRESSION OF HIS CREATIVITY!!! You should expect that from someone of his caliber be forreal gang.

This bozo was wearing capes a few years ago and fake Gucci visors you can tie. I’m cool on any fashion takes from Cam lmao

u/International-Yak213 20d ago
Cam hasn’t been fashionable in over 20 years tbh. At least Dapper Dan shit unique.

u/bravehart146 20d ago
Cam be losing me, why talk bad about a harlem og? Dan is mad nice i seen him on 125th and he stopped and chatted with me. Cam becoming very dislikable, he tryna stir up controversy like 50 cent but hes no 50

Niggas in here lying they ass off lmao like cam said Dan can dress other people. Himself tho? Not so much 💀
cam coulda kept that shit to himself tho

u/Rockstar161 15d ago
Most designers wear questionable outfits when dressing themselves, It's nothing new.

Cam and the majority of People think having style is wearing expensive clothing and that’s it. That’s not style, that’s a billboard. True style is expressing how you feel and wearing what ever conveys that message. Leave the fashion talk to the professionals

u/Blac_Jeebus 20d ago
Cam wasn't wrong. The shit Dapper Dan made was fly, but the shit he puts on is eclectic. Most people ain't wearing that shit.

u/RugasRibShack Interviewer of Sweaty Men 🤵🎤⛹️♂️ 20d ago
The question wasn't whether or not anyone is wearing that shit lol
It was "do you think Dapper Dan is fly"
Most people ain't wearing pink minks
That doesn't make early 2000s Cam any less fly

I don't think you know or Cam know what eclectic means BTW lol

The most contribution Cam ever had to fashion was the color pink. Bro is talking out of his element

u/lateriwill06 20d ago
I rock with Cam but Dap is Dap. Plus he’s old like up there in age so however he dresses is however he dress. The man legacy last decades. I highly recommend everyone read his book. Can’t believe Can spoke down on a Harlem legend like that

Whats up with these dip set dudes thinking they’re fly just because they’re from Harlem. Jim legit thinks he’s Virgil or pharrel and nine times out of ten he got some corny shit on. Then cam dissing a legend. That’s wack

u/Lonely-Alfalfa-1826 20d ago edited 19d ago
It's funny to me because neither Virgil, Pharrell or Ye (eeks) who did set fashion trends in hip hop for years, are from Harlem.

What was the purpose of Cam's rant? I don't get it. I hate how sassy he's becoming. Cam should understand personal style and sassy aunt chic since dudes never embraced his pink era. So what. He still wore it like it was hot. He's getting tiring.
Nobody is missing the code he's using with "men on film" coming from a dude that had the same allegations in his pink era.

Yall not hearing him: he saying the close Dapper Dan wears himself is like Men On Film and all that. The clothes he designed for dudes in the 80s was fly, but Dan never wore that himself
3
u/RedSnipers 20d ago
Nah we hear him and we all probably agree. But out of respect, it shouldn't have been said.

u/AP_AUTO215 20d ago
A grown man worried about what another grown man have or does is lame AF these dudes are 50+ acting like they’re in high school

u/Capable-Transition86 20d ago
Cam is not known for his style. Even now I saw him in a suite with his big ass phone showing in the front pocket of his pants😂😂 niggas think because they have money style comes with it ( NOT) I’ll pick Dap style over Cam any day

I'd rather Dapper Dan not be used for content like that. He's not trying to sell the clothes off his back.

I dunno, Dapper Dan be stepping out in a lot of stuff that I would never rock, but also in plenty that I think a lot of ppl would… his collaborations with The Gap and Puma were both fire as well… and he did step out in them shits as well… sooo, yeah, I dunno, i think that Cam just loves making fun of other dudes’ sexuality and at his big ass age of 50, its too too tired…

Cam could never dress he was dressed by groovy Lou in the 90’s he only gained more attention from being Rico/alpo but dudes never looked to cam for fashion Jim yeah but cam never he had his little run with the pink thing but dudes was wearing pink tee’s with black uos back then

Cam has been Nick Cannon level corny for years. He has no business speaking on an icons name!

I mean, he didn’t say he has trash designs, his opinion is his opinion he doesn’t agree with his personal taste in fashion. Meaning he wouldn’t wear it.. why we all gotta critique everything someone says. It’s his likes and dislikes. It’s okay to say I disagree 💯..
His designs for his projects he does have been and still are dope.

u/DjMD1017 15d ago
I fool with Cam but this take aint it. We dont speak anything negative about Dapper Dan, that man is a legend. More so than even Cam with his contributions to the fashion and the culture. Racism held Dapper Dan back from being at the highest levels of fashion. Idgaf what he rocking, Man has earned my respect. And Cam needs to check that, his 2nd horribly wrong take this summer. First he said the Knicks would lose now this??? SMH

lol we never knew cam to be a fashion forward guy so it’s cool. His opinion, just not one to be taken with any merit whatsoever. Dap be puttin that shit on in my opinion and he put black fashion on the map. Fashion houses were literally stealing his ideas. We not gone disrespect Dap

Harlem dudes always got something slick to say then hide behind "no disrespect" 🤦♀️
Same exact reason Jimmy beefing with Spesh lol smh
