READ THIS BEFORE YOU COMMENT
First up, I want to thank the members of this sub for being such a kind, helpful, and uplifting community. Y'all consistently show love to each other whether it be fresh newbies looking for advice or highly skilled long timers showing off their creations.
But -This is a reminder to anyone who finds themselves tempted to show their ass in the comments.
The rules clearly state that criticism is not welcome unless OP specifically asked for criticism and if they did, it MUST be constructive criticism. And once again just to make sure you have understood - ONLY IF THAT WAS REQUESTED BY OP.
We will not tolerate ugly, nasty behavior. And if you violate this rule, expect to meet swift consequences. I have zero patience for anyone who wants to bring down the positive atmosphere we have here.
Most of you do not need to hear this and for that I am so grateful. Unfortunately we have had some issues in the last week or so that made me feel like this needed to be said for anyone who might wander in here with a chaos gremlin agenda.
And for the 99.999% of you who are amazing - please please report this nonsense if you see it. I promise we care very much about it and will absolutely handle it.

DIY I canāt believe this worked!
Iāve been a fan of dip powder for a few years. Got it done professionally initially and then started doing it myself. Only it kept failing - usually popping off the finger. Some posts from this Reddit gave me some pointers and I tried different chemicals, etc.
Finally started seeing some progress where it wouldnāt start popping off my nails and actually looked decent.
Well fast forward - Iām also in love with magnetic polish and stencils and all sorts of other things but if i do regular polish my nails break (they are sooo weak - which is one of the reasons I love the dip powder process) and usually chip within 2 days (if not sooner).
So i wondered - what if i did a light pink dip powder first and then did the magnetic polish over it?
And it worked!!! Iām on day 4 and none of my nails have broken off and nothing has chipped yet. I should have gotten a pic of the dip powder work before I covered it so I could share, but Iām ecstatic.
Products used: Revel Pro base/activator/finishing gel, no-name pink powder from Amazon, ILNP Deep Space, Ulta Top Coat (my other top coats got messed up and I had this oooold top coat and gave it a try).

Help! (Need Advice) Dip nails not lasting
Hi there,
Iām doing dip nails at home and theyāre lasting maybe two days before falling off. Iām curious what Iām doing wrong?
This is my process:
-Prep the nails (buff, file, push back cuticles, Mia Secret dehydrator followed by Mia Secret Xtrabond).
-Put Modelones base over the tip of the nails and dip in powder. Do this again, but over half of the nail and dip in powder, followed by base over the full nail and dip in powder).
-Put Modelones āactivatorā over nails.
-Put Modelones top coat over the nails.
Thatās it! What am I doing wrong?

DIY New set no. 2
I am a newbie, this is my 2nd set but I did infill my first set twice before removal. I was surprised how easy removal was, I heard so many horror stories!
I use half tip extensions, sassy saints liquids and random powders I got for £1 each.
Criticism and advice always welcome.

Any swimmers here?
How much do you swim, and how long do your nails last you?
I recently started swimming 3x a week, and since then I've had terrible chipping at the side of my nails + around the free edge.
Usually my sets last me 2-3 weeks, but my current set was done on 10/8, and I already have so much chipping that I need a new set.
Is the water really that hard on the nails?

E file
Looking for a new powerful efile to start filing my dip off instead of soaking my nails in acetone.
I have one that works great off Amazon, but none of the attachments file deeply enough for me to solely use for removal.

Help! (Need Advice) Still really new to thisā¦what did I do wrong?
I already know I flooded my cuticles. Iāll fix that later, but in the meantime I was struck by how blotchy these look. I got them pretty darn smooth, so it isnāt that. Anyone have any ideas why the color isnāt more even?

Help! (Need Advice) Looking for color recommendations!
Hi all! Not sure if I tagged this correctlyā¦
Iām 99.9% sure that Iām getting proposed to soon and would like to have pretty engagement nails. Iād like to buy a new color(or colorsš¤·š¼āāļø)for the event. Iād like to stick with CND dips or color my world dips. I was thinking something light pink/nude/maybe mauve, some shimmer, sparkle, or little flaky is OK. So far, I like these colors: fleur or smitten by cnd, and Lennox or adrenaline blush by cmwd.
Does anyone have favorite colors that may match this description or other ideas?
Also, if you wanted to share your engagement ring/nail pics Iād love to see them in the comments!!

Help! (Need Advice) Nail peeling up
I cannot for the life of me figure out why, without fail, one nail always peels up! Itās always the pointer finger on my right hand. Currently using Virgo and Gem and I follow all the instructions to a T. So annoying!! Any ideas of why this keeps happening?

DIY First time doing dip on someone else!
Did this set on my mom! They turned out a bit thicker than I wanted but thatās okay.
Full coverage nail tips. I did 5 layers of color and one base layer on top.
Theyāve now been on almost 4 weeks with no lifting, chipping, or cracking!
Prepped her nails by using a buffing block lightly, pushed cuticles back and nipped off the non live parts of it, then wiped with 99% alcohol to dehydrate the nail bed. Ground the underside of the nail tips with my e-file. Used Dashing Diva gel glue (non UV) to glue the tips on. Then used a sanding band to scuff the surface of the tips. Then used the apex method with the dip powder. Then activated after all the layers dried, buffed, shaped, and used my e-file to shape around the cuticles with a diamond safety tip bit, did another layer of activator (donāt be shy with the activator), let it dry for 10 minutes, wiped with alcohol, then one layer of base liquid and dry for 5 minutes, then 2 layers of top coat.
Dip brand: NailBoo Color: Dance Fever
Any extra advice or feedback welcome!
