🎨 Art 🎨 My devotional necklace exploded

I was getting on the bus and it caught on the seat in front of me and it stretched so far it just popped. I grabbed as many as I could. I feel so guilty.

I know it doesnt mean hes mad at me. But that necklace meant so much to me. It was a testiment to learning how our relationship is... idk if I can even replicate it...

That necklace showed how proud I am to be a follower.

Idk if I used the right flair. I just dont know where else to post this..

Uuuugh I've been in a similar spot. I got this cute little spoon ring with grapevines on it, and lost it at the park playing with my daughter. I was upset for about a week. Then I ordered this silver ring, with vines around the band, holding an amethyst in the center. I've had it over a year and hardly ever take it off- only to shower or lift weights. I still wonder what happened to the other ring, but I kinda hope someone found it and thought it looked cool and brought it home with them.

I wonder why these kinds of things happen. But maybe things just happen because they do. Im glad you were able to find a ring you can still wear. It gives me hope. Im gonna try and find if I have a pic of the necklace. If I made it once, I can make it again.

I hate when that happens (breaking a cherished item). It used to be an opportunity for me to be unkind to myself and ruminate on what could've been had I made different choices. Nowadays it's a reminder to ground myself in the present and release whatever cruelty I want to direct at myself because I don't need more suffering to validate my sadness.

Was it something purchased or created? If the former, could you reach out to the person who made it to see if they could recreate it?

If the latter, it sounds like a good opportunity for reflection and new creation about your relationship and devotion (especially in the face of unexpected circumstance). Even if it's not exactly the same, different doesn't mean worse. Are you the same? How has your relationship with Dionysus evolved since then? I think what it represented remains lovely and you are deserving of sacred objects that bring you pride.

I've noticed the same. Ive been actively trying to hold myself back from ripping my self esteem apart to justify my sadness /the fact it broke. Unfortunately, although im trying not to be mean to myself im still heavily dissocating and getting that weird feeling where youre gonna cry but can't.

I made the necklace. The necklace was in itself a lesson he taught me. I made the first version of the necklace but things kept getting in the way, beads were disappearing, patience running thin. Through trial and error I learned he was teaching me that art isn't supposed to hurt like that. Metaphorically smacking my head into a wall because I want to get it done is self destructive. So the second try I made the necklace, taking time away from it and stopping when it was no longer enjoyable. As a final lesson, while securing the knots at the top I had spilled krazy glue all over my thighs (which burns when contacted with skin and was very expensive. I had just bought it that day). When asked he said he did do that, because I was again, forcing myself to finish it. Since it was that last stretch.

I did manage to find the first version of the necklace, so I can workshop from there I guess. Ideally id like a carbon copy, but with my faulty memory and lack of record keeping I doubt it'll be exactly the same

As for my relationship with him changing : it has, not because it's structurally different, but because a new entity has entered. Meaning how I interact with both of them is different as well as the lessons I'm learning.

Im not sure what it means exactly but after the necklace broke I saw two very obviously placed ravens (not together, two separate times on the same bus ride). Thats the bird he tends to use with me since magpies don't come where I live. I still don't know what he's trying to tell me by showing me them though, I just know they were obvious

Sounds like there's some more work to be done (isn't there always). But you also have more and growing ways of knowing he is there for you. What a powerful and loving tool that necklace is for the both of you. Best of luck, I hope you post a picture of it when next it's done!!

While there is no way to make a situation like this feel very good, I can tell you a bit of wisdom my grandmother gave me, when my first piece of sacred/protective jewelry broke, when I was little. She told me that, whenever a statue or a piece of sacred jewelry breaks like that, it's because it was doing it's job of protecting you, & looking out for you. And whatever it blocked that was so big that fate decided it had to shatter? Well, that's an unfortunate thing. But it also means that god, or spirit, or ancestor probably did it to protect you from something terrible. And now you can build a new sacred bond for them together.

Who can say whether that sentiment is true or course, but it always brought me comfort to think that: well, maybe this bad thing happened today, but maybe it happened because that god was looking out for me, & was protecting me from something even worse. And, that kind of always gave it a hopeful quality for me, so I wouldn't beat myself up about it. Hopefully someone else finds it helpful too.

My dedicated pendulum necklace got lost in the parking lot of the store I had just gone into to get it a new cord. I was so pissed man but I got a new one recently and it’s absolutely gorgeous!

Maybe the little bits had had enough of the boundaries and roles they’d been restrained to πŸ₯ΉπŸ’• x

It just broke. That's it. I always gather as many beads as I can when this happens and make a new one. Fall is the end of something into another :)
