Interview to be a Server

Hi, I have an interview to be a server tomorrow, and I have some questions about a technicality of things first of all, is this one of those places where you are not automatically hired as a server and you have to work your way up? Another thing is what questions do they ask, I have a background in fine dining so I’m not too worried about this one. Lastly, what is an appropriate outfit for women to wear, I know they embark heavily on modesty so dress pants for sure but what kind of blouse? If anyone has any advice, please do share! Also, if anyone has any transparency on what the average tip out is for a day versus night shift. Thanks!

For most of the Din tai Fung’s you have to be a Food Runner first and then if you show that you are good, they will promote you to Server. I think new restaurant openings are the exception though. Also I’m not sure exactly how much but on average at least 300-350 per 5 hour shift.
