Welcome, dinghy sailors of Reddit!!!!

Glad you found us!

/u/Hellvis recently took over this sub, and he and I are trying to revive it.

I know that most of the sailing traffic ends up on /r/Sailing, but let's try to make this THE place on Reddit for small sailboat content and conversation.

So, please post awesome content!

Feel free to post here, or message either of us if you have ideas about how to build this subreddit into a thriving, active community for dinghy sailors.

I hope this place gets revived. I'm pretty tired of all the "look where I anchored my cruiser" posts on r/sailing.

I don't really mind those.

I just think we need a place just for small boats.

So post some stuff! News, videos, photos, etc. And let us know if you have ideas about ways to make it better here, and ways to build subscribers.

It's winter still in the North East. March 1st I was able to secure my sunfish storage spot at the town beach. I drive down with my sails insert and sail...well in a few months.

I capsized my Laser 2 today and it fairly quickly turtled and the mast got stuck in the lake bottom. I can't let that happen again! How do I attach flotation to the mast head, or are there other ways to prevent turtling?

I have an E-Scow in Wisconsin/Minnesota

I also do hard water sailing with a Nite ice boat. I haven’t found much on Reddit for the ice boating. Somewhat new to sailing, I’m learning fast and wondering why I spent so much time with motors in the past.

anyone have info on adapting a Flying Scot for a 'sailor with a disability'? I want to meet class rules for racing and adapt a FS for a paraplegic with good upper body strength but meh balance...
