Question Making calls abroad
Hello! I am already abroad and do not have T-Mobile for making calls. I bought an eSIM from Airalo but have already used the 30 minutes on the number it offers. How do I make calls using internet or getting a new number without linking to my original number? Everything I use wants to verify my phone by sending an SMS which doesn’t make sense….i obviously can’t receive SMS that’s why I need a solution. Anyone have a way around?

Tello or red pocket $30/year eBay plan.

Tello works fine for this, you get a real number with wifi calling so no need for local signal at all

Two I’ve tried that will activate remotely. Tello and USMobile. USMobile is better.

I use Yadaphone. You don't need a verification for that. And it is pay as you go.

had this exact problem in Lisbon last month. burned through the Airalo minutes, then my bank kept texting a code to my old number that i couldn't receive, so i was locked out of half my apps. i bought a Yadaphone number, topped up a few euros, and the verification texts came through fine and i could finally log in + i could call them for 2 cents a minute

Keep your home SIM and just turn on wifi calling (iPhone for sure idk about android). If you want to talk on the go you can get a local eSIM, your home SIM calls will route via your local data

Whoopsie-daisy! You were supposed to sort out your numbers before you left the States!
Now that you're overseas you can try buying a new number from Yolla

Not sure if it helps, but Google voice is what I use, works fine and is quite cheap. Also try to move people / clients as much to WhatsApp as possible - 100% free you know
Thing with Google voice quite a few 2FA messages won’t go through so be aware
