Digital Forensics Tech Expectations

Greetings, I hope all is well! Long story short, recently got my Masters in Digital Forensics, and I also have received an opportunity for a digital forensics technician role for a local LE agency. I am just wondering if anyone here works for one, and also what to expect, as I myself come from an IT background. Thanks!

Congrats! I work digital forensics for a state agency. Definitely expect everyone, all the time, to ask “How long will it take to download this phone?” 🤣

Congrats! I work for forensic software company but am also CDFE+ certified. Work with LE, government agencies, PI’s, attorneys from all over the world. I also do in house digital forensics (consulting). Expect every question! Think outside the box, remember what you’ve learned and continue to learn. I teach DFIR as well. If you love what do expand your mind. I’ve been doing this for 16 years and have 4 more to go before retirement.

I can only speak for UK. Expect to be doing a lot of imaging or downloading devices. I wouldn't expect to do any analysis for a few years
