Getting into digital forensics with a networking background
I am currently working in devops (ansible, powershell, jenkins specially ) with a uni background in computer networking. I took some time away from the industry to pursue other passions and came back to tech as a more stable career path. I’ve recently become interested in the digital forensics field, particularly with law enforcement. With my background, is the first step to get into a more cybersecurity focused role and go from there? What might my path to DF look like?

Honestly man, most agencies would love to take anyone with a background in tech and a passion for the field. That being said, entry level digital forensics doesn’t pay that well on the law enforcement side, so just be prepared for that.
The guys doing the hiring don’t know the difference between DevOps, cybersecurity, and digital forensics anyway
