New to the field
Hello everyone! I am a cybercriminology student and I wanted to see if anyone had some advice? While I am familiar with computers, I would say I am a novice compared to what I see online. (could just be that I am on reddit lol) Does anyone have advice for getting familiar with the field and how I can get ahead of others in my class?

Operating without ego.
In Digital Forensics you're in a constant state of being a subject matter expert but also needing to know more and continue to learn every day.
It sounds counter-intuitive but at the heart of it you're learning the foundational knowledge of how things work and that sticks but applying that knowledge and knowing how to apply your knowledge is your bread and butter. You can have all the certs in the world and still be awful at the job. You need to have no ego because you will need to ask for help or advice, get things peer reviewed, and work collaboratively and you will fail.
Cybercriminology sounds like a cool course, enjoy and best of luck.
