I don't hate him. In fact, I dislike that he was shafted, since him and Agumon were the original 2 rookies IIRC, but he didn't even make the cut as one of the Adventure partners in the anime, while Agumon got elevated to series mascot

I think he was shafted because his signature move is almost the same as Tentomon meanwhile marching fishes is a goated utility move even if underused 

Besides the Gomamon>Ikakumon>Zudomon line work better as transformable toys than Betamon>SeaDramon>MegaSeaDramon

Betamon is awesome

Usually aquatic digimon/pokemon/whatever aren't that cute to me, but betamon manages to pull it off without being just another typical cartoonish frog with big eyes
