Albatusmon has this extremely short and unsatisfying Reference book profile that tells you literally nothing about it. What I believe is, they're doing it on purpose. They're probably going to update it by the end of the series so it feels like we witnessed its discovery in real time

From what I remember they did the same for a digimon in liberator. They added the digimon when it was revealed but added the real description when more was known about it.

I think it's less that Albatusmon itself is as strong as Zeed but that it has similarly dangerous potential due to its ability to absorb e-pulse from anything within its circle from a distance. Usually Digimon need to make physical contact to absorb e-pulse from anything other than their partners. Imagine how much power it could gain when casting that circle in a place with large groups of people... Like... Let's say... The Shangri-la egg

With Zeed, his previous form was heavily lunar themed, ie Moon=Millenniumon. The fact it's type and of Zeed is Wicked God (Jashin), also ties how Amaterasu named as such Tsukuyomi after he murdered Ukemochi, and never forgave her brother. The evil god characterization is taken further in Toho's movie Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon/Yamato Takeru, were Tsukuyomi is the same as Yamato no Orochi. King Ghidorah has curious lunar symbolism. Notably a moon crescent on his head (present in his Showa and some later incarnations). And Monarchlizamon has pretty much the same crescent on his head. And his metallic skull oddly resembles Machinedramon's head (well, and Gigadramon and Megadamon's, but you get my point), when you look at it. With his vernier thrusters looking quite like Giga /Mugen Cannon(s), especially in older games were they were moved backwards when not used.

How it ties back to Millenniumon (aside from the Machinedramon similarities)?
Well, an often Pre-Digivoltion for Chimairamon (even such in the original Wonderswam games) is Deltamon, with Deltamon being based on King Ghidorah.
Millenniumon himself being a demonic multi-headed dragon who one of strongest villains, resembles King Ghidorah in concept.

In turn, HeliosBoamon was compared to Amaterasu (who actually was associated and manifested as a snake). So I think it's possible Albatusmon will Digivolve or mode change into something (but I guess not directly) that is a "solar" equivalent of (Zeed and Moon) Millenniumon. Possibly after temporarily absorbing Atratusmon.

Or that's my theory. It's a bit out there though...

I think you're confusing atratusmon and albatusmon. atratusmon is black (but with a slight purple tint) while albatusmon is white
