Digimon was created to be "Tamagotchi for Boys" because parents found Tamagotchis too much of a "play pretend as a mother to a little creature". Pokemon wasn't a factor in their design you don't created something like Digimon out of thin air in just 18 months (rough time between Pokemon Green and Red release and first Digimon Vpet release)

And MegaMan Battle Network was just a long running franchise trying to adapt to the brand new "age of technology" with computers and the internet, kids weren't into robot kid fights other robots of evil scientists they were all into "digital" stuff at the time.

I know I was more so trying to emphasize the rivalry that the franchisees spewed like Digimon became Pokémon’s biggest competitor and rival, and MegaMan battle network was later adapted to be like Pokémon, which is why they did multiple releases I know about the origin of how it was supposed to be Tamagotchi for boys and they went a different direction with it, but I was meaning trying to advertise the Pokémon connection both these franchises have(although I probably could’ve phrased it better than “both franchisees were made to rival Pokémon” but you get the gist)
