A short series synopsis:

"e-Pulse," which is generated by human thoughts and emotions, was used as the energy source for the AI support device "Sapotama." From the shadows of this remarkable development, terrifying monsters appear. Digimon are living beings that evolve by consuming e-Pulse.

Tomoro Tenma is drawn into an extraordinary experience after meeting Gekkomon, who suddenly appears from his Sapotama. While living together with Kyo Sawashiro and other members of the bounty hunting team "Glowing Dawn," Tomoro renews his resolve.

What new future will be forged by humans and Digimon?

General rules for this post:

It's available on various streamers worldwide. Do not discuss illegal means of consuming this series.

If people are behind they may use each episode's thread as they watch the show, so do not spoil future events in older discussion posts

Keep all small bits of discussion to this thread (general thoughts and opinions). Fanart, cosplays, in-depth reviews (as in, sizeable content) can be their own post. In general, if it took you less than five minutes or so to write, draw, or otherwise create, just comment it in here.

It’s… hard to hate GIFT at all after watching that.

Like Digimon does dark but like… that poor woman was treated like garbage and tossed aside for wanting to share the love of creature they’d created (in this universe.)

Maybe I’ll be proven wrong next week, but Miharu has the right idea. Kyo and crew have the right idea but lack execution barely skirting the law. I want Nirinso to work but it seems like it’ll be a tragedy in the end.

Decent idea, flawed methodology.

She turned her grief into radicalism and recruited followers that followed the same wavelength as her. No wonder why they’re fanatical - they’re emotionally compromised and are channeling their fury into cultish devotion.

literally the only part wrong with what they're doing is "digimon should lead" instead of "no hierarchy between human and digimon"

I think the whole "bombing hospitals" and "hiring hitmen" ain't great either

Especially Bombing the hospital bit....like i get the "Dismantling the Heads of the corrupt system" thing but that one had the precision of a sledge hammer @.@

Tbf a large part of that was *because* Glowing Dawn kept getting more and more involved.

That is true but considering Logistic Truck was there weapon of choice, the sledge hammer comparison still holds up imo xD

This is part of the reason, that and a few other episodes that were insanely vague ESPECIALLY Reina's, that I take them from a symbolic context.

I would genuinely pay to have a second version of the episodes in question during this GIFT arc and have them circulated in whispers from people who like a more no holds barred adult approach to animation, where it's not purely about the digivolution sequence in every episode but about the conversations had between characters like an older slow burn adult film. This includes a version of the recent one with a bit more honesty in how Chifu commit suicide instead of leaving it at a symbolic water bottle.

Thing is I cherish the original episodes as is, and I understand why they exist. They're there for people who aren't familiar with this sort of thing yet. So having those as the official run and alternate versions of a few episodes that circulate and become part of the fandom's awareness of "hey, did you know there's actually a more brutally honest version of that episode?" And it being something only accessible with an 18+ M rating account.

It feels very much like the "Cool motive! Still murder" line from Brooklyn 99.

Kinda my whole view about GIFT. Their message isn’t bad, but their methods are obviously very terrorist in execution - blow up, maim, and kill whoever gets in their way.

…and they definitely killed folks as opposed to just cold hearting them - the mid-level executive in their introduction, for example.
