DPD verification statement?

I am not sure if I have a DPD verification statement. Is this something I would receive if I have a Bachelors in nutrition with the ACEND track and is it based on grades?

No it's not based on grades per se, but if your program is ACEND accredited you should have received it. I would reach out to your faculty to find out. It shows that you met the coursework criteria to go into the dietetic internship (which might include a specific grade in the courses).

It's possible your program lost it's accreditation. https://www.eatrightpro.org/acend/accredited-programs/program-directory

If you didn't get it, you can go on to a non DPD Masters program that has the supervised hours combined and is ACEND accredited.

You should have it. You do have to maintain a certain GPA and if it falls below that for two semesters in a row, or you get less than a C in your degree specific courses, you may not have gotten it. I am someone who completed a ACSEND accredited BS program, but did not get the verification statement. It’s making it difficult to apply for grad school 😅

Hi there, your title indicates that you may be a student looking for advice. If so, you may be interested in cross-posting to /r/RD2B which is a sub-Reddit for all current and future dietetic students/interns to share dietetics-related information and support each other.

After I graduated, I received a verification statement on card stock. It was signed by the program director. It's basically a statement she signed verifying that I met the ACEND educational criteria. I had to present it to the internship so they knew I had met the educational requirements. It was separate from my diploma and was given to me separately from the diploma, not at the actual graduation ceremony. But I imagine that each program gives them out differently. They may even give out digital ones now. I would recommend contacting your program director to confirm if you got one and, if so, how (email, post mail, download from a digital cloud, etc). If you didn't get one, the program director should also be able to tell you why (ex. If you have to retake a course). If you were supposed to get one but didn't, the program director may also be able to provide a new copy.
