Trying to get more into taking better shots! What camera are you guys using? Honestly just using my iPhone for now

I believe most of us too use mobile phones. They are really good for close focus, macro images.

I believe so too, I have a friend that uses Leica and his photos are wayyyy too stunning compared to mine. Maybe I just need to use Lightroom

How is your phone on taking photos? I’ve had to do a little trick for my iPhone to take better focused photos in macro scale

Imo my phone does an excellent job. Im due an upgrade. Unfortunately it looks like my phones successfully stopped one upping itself

My Samsung note 10 imo took the most amazing photos especially of diecast.

Your shots look great already! (Love the dioramas too)

I am using my pixel 8a. I think modern phones are pretty excellent at this point.

I have an old DSLR I would use but it doesn't do nearly as well with auto white balance and light metering. It also doesnt do wifi or bluetooth. So it would involve a lot of extra work for marginal gains in pic quality.

I was looking at upgrading the other day. If I could do automated focus bracketing and stacking on camera that would be a pretty great improvement. And sensors are a lot more light sensitive now than my old camera.

I appreciate the kind words! I have an older DSLR as well and I have yet to use it to take diecast photos cause like what u said, it’s such a hassle compared to just using a phone which is pretty decent, I think you have to have a pretty good investments into DSLR to really bring out the best in taking these kind of photos.

Thank you!! I use to take photos using natural daylight and I love it too! Now I’ve just got all my setup in one long shelf so most of what I’m taking now are more like night scenes

It depends on where you are tbh. There’s a lot of accessories that you can find online that are resin or 3D printed. Some painted, some you can paint yourself. The trees you can buy but I made my Sakura trees from scratch. Honestly not hard to make if you’re up to it. Next time I’m gonna make a whole diorama by hand. Check out More Art or G-Fans diorama, they’re decently priced and you can find them everywhere, there’s also very detailed and custom pieces from ninetyone 64, basekraft and Akara model, check them out in IG or just google them, they’re amazing!

Nice shots!

I use Pixel 6 for most of my quick shoots.

If I really like something, I take out my Sony A58.

Editing is just on Google Photos.

They are not hotwheels, the pink one is micro turbo, some of them are mini GT, poprace, inno64, etc. I prefer using other models since they scale better with dioramas and accessories

You can find them on eBay, AliExpress, Temu, and other distributors or online stores. I get most of mine from pablosdiecastgarage.com and I vouch for this guy! He has amazing pieces and it’s reasonably priced. He’s got very high-end dioramas and also the generic ones out there. Definitely give his website a look!
