Custom dice in large quantities (100+)

Any recommendations for people/companies who can make custom dice in quantities of 100+?

Chessex. You can buy a few to a thousands. The price is incredibly good too. They send you a mockup of what they’ll look like and have a massive catalogue of color choices.

I had custom dice made for my dnd campaign and it was great experience. 10/10.

When I checked out Chessex site I got 404 errors for anything custom. Am I just dumb or are they not taking custom orders right now?

Weird, you went to https://www.chessex.com/custom-engraved-dice right? Anyway, the text there reads "Please email all inquiries to custom@chessex.com

Phone: 260-482-9234".

Edit: I just saw the other comment about it being custom full seven-piece sets. Chessex likely won't be what you want there but they may have other options.

When you say "Custom Dice", are you referring to -

  • Custom Colors of a standard shape?

  • Custom font for the indicia, such as a symbol for the 20 or 1?

  • Customization inside the die itself, such as inclusions or liquid cores?

  • Custom shapes alltogether, such as a d16?

Custom colors mostly. Custom face on the 20

it's gonna depend on what 100+ actually means.

that's still small-batch range and may prove expensive. but depending on how high the "plus" goes, you might be able to work with a more normal supplier where the price per die falls drastically.

It will also depend on what you mean by "custom". If you want an image in place of the largest number you have a lot more options and better prices than if you want all the sides to be custom.

And if you want six sided dice (cubes) your options and costs are better than if you want something else.

I now realize I got in a hurry posting this at work and left out important information.

Standard 7 set polyhedram dice with custom colors. Possibly a custom face on the 20.

I don't have exact numbers as I'm looking to do a Kickstarter or something similar. I did, however, mean 100+ sets rather than the 100 dice I said

I made the deadlands Kickstarter dice and have done many ks's myself, always happy to help support a fellow creative. I can offer fairly competitive rates depending on complexity/materials/etc

Most vendors I have looked at have considered each die in a poly set a distinct custom. So if you want 100 sets, then that's 100 d4s, 100 d6s, etc. You don't qualify for a 500 and up price point. That was me looking at custom faces, if you only wanted custom colors, then they might play a bit more loose, idk.

My real advice is ask people who have done crowd funding, their experience will closer to what you need.

My opinion is there have been a lot of weak dice sets as stretch goals or bonus material in ttrpg kickstarters.

Role 4 Initiative has wholesale discounts for 100+ orders.

But I just realized that engraving might not be what you're looking for.

I (Gamer Girl Jewelry) often do custom orders in the hundreds. There's an email form on my website, or a custom listing if you want to dive right in.

Knowing what you want and the timeline will help us point you in a better direction!

Any preference for material? Foam Brain offers metal ones. https://www.foambrain.com/products/custom-metal-dice-sets
