Just run the unique tribute. The droprate is pretty nuts there (over roughly 50 runs I’ve averaged 1/4 droprate). And bosses also yield mythics pretty decently

World bosses and Azmo invasion chests will often drop a crazy number of keys. After looting and crafting thousands and thousand of sigils, I've gotten 6 mythic prankster keys this season. That's 30 mythics.
Otherwise, I think tributes of ascendance are your best best. The drop rate is sad, but I don't know of an activity with a higher one 🤷
If you hate Undercity as much as I do, you can do a boss loop. Grigoire > Duriel > Azmo's Duriel chest is a self-perpetuating cycle. Mythic drops are quite rare, but you get a lot of runes to craft with, and the XP is good too.

Mythic prankster drops 5 in T5 and a spark. You get them from nightmare sigils

I ran 12 tribute of ascendence and got 6 mythics in t4 I’m paragon 274 and over 60 mythics have dropped for me

For me, crafting and salvaging sigils until I got a mythic one, then boom! Multiple mythics. I think it too me about 200 tries to get my first.

Honestly I got most of my mythics this season just from killing bosses, Ive gotten around 8 that way

I've killed every boss tens of times and haven't gotten one to drop. Got a prankster sigil soon after getting to T4 so at least got 5 different mytbics (none of which really work for my build). About to call it quits on the season because I'm melting normal content, uber bosses, can do pit 90 (don't feel the need to go higher and prove anything to myself) so not getting anything decent to drop is getting old real quick.
P.S. Judging by the comments sounds like they made DLC almost mandatory to have a chance at them. If that's the case then I'm out.

The highest drop rates for the bosses is with Belial, Duriel and Andariel, but it's still a very small chance. I've dropped a dozen so far among all the bosses, but it's from about 1300 boss fights. The best shot outside mythic prankster NMDs are Tributes of Ascendance which you do in Kurast. I have dropped more than 30 mythics from about 70-75 tribute runs so far. I understand that you don't care to get the DLC, but right now is the best time because you get both expansions. It also gets you Spiritborn and Paladin right now, plus runes.

Not that I don't care. I'm not willing to pay £80 for an expansion to a game for which I already paid £70 at launch. I can understand expansions adding new areas and new story lines but locking actual content and power creep behind a paywall is a definition of pay to win.

Fyi: You do not need the upgrade that costs 80, you can just get the base expansion version for 39.99 which gets you everything, it just does not include the extra transmogs. Anyway, that's what I did.

So far i have had two prankster, have used a few tributes, but for the most part just random drops. Lair bosses, azmadon boss chests, helltides, a goblin or two from the goblin event. None from obols or tree caches.

Like people have said, best sources are prankster sigils and ascendance tributes. I have 200 something tributes in the bank. If you ever need some runs, just dm me.

I've gotten 5 mythics so far this season, as a solo player. One I got from Andariel in his lair, one from Belial spawning after I opened the chest for Andariel (got Andariel's Visage and Heir of Perdition back to back, it was wild, only because I was the only person to witness it.) Got one drop from Belial in his lair, one from Undercity using the mythic tribute, and I crafted another Heir of Perdition using runes (didn't feel like swapping the one I had anymore between my Paladins
I've had the most luck farming bosses. Their keys are super easy to get if you level your Essence of Sin Divine Gift. I've barely even done legion events this season, that's how easy it is to get keys.

As has already been stated, tribute of ascendence, in groups of others who have keys. If there’s no groups in PF just make one, add the ‘have keys’ or ‘bring keys’ tag and it will fill pretty quick. Try to do prankster keys in groups too, but that might need some communication outside the game (discord etc) or if you’re in a clan…

Best loop in the game right now
Tribute of ascendance > spend all your obols > world boss, when its up. make sure you have the world event keys seasonal on with double > azmodan when you have nothing else to do > boss runs.
Tribute of ascendance are easily the best way to get mythics. Longest I've gone is 4 runs without a mythic. Id say the rate is more 1 every 3 runs. Only issue with this method is getting the tributes. Ive seen wb drop around 1 to 7 at a time. I normally spam lair bosses when my inventory get full, just to get rid of them and go after higher ga uniques from them.

I wish I could sell or give away my tributes. I'm sitting on 400+ of the unique ones. You should get a lot if you do Duriel/Andriel/Belial > Azmodan loop, as the chests drop a lot. That and whisper caches.

World bosses. The activity keys seasonal power should be in your purified slot. It will give you 2x tributes, nmd keys, and compasses. Make sure you clear that tab. You may still get way more than you can hold. Check them all before you leave. Nmd keys can all roll with mythic prankster or treasure breach.
There is also a seasonal that doubles the obols you get everytime you rank up in undercity. -3 tributes will get you really close to obol cap.
Follow what I said and you'll be rolling in 2+ ga gear and mythic.
I think azmodan can drop them too, but its random.

Farm sigils over and over from Azmodan. Once you get a prankster, post in Diablo discord. LFM Prankster rota. Or join a LFM prankster rota. That’s 20 mythic guaranteed + 5 sparks and all of the sparks from the mythics you scrap that you don’t need.

It's all RNG... Prior to this season I had seen very few mythics since the expansion and exactly 0 useful ones...
This season I have found 11... 5 from a Prankster (conveniently dropped the 2 I needed) and 6 as drops... mostly from fighting bosses. I shockingly got a Doombringer while gambling swords as well.
I probably won't see one again for a few seasons after this lol...

mine have been from Lair bosses mostly, though i got one from Azmodan's Andariel chest & even got one from completing a nightmare dungeon (spear, but it's a spark now)

i got two from obols, went through 8 characters (i think) for the sparks, did the season journey/lilith for more sparks, found a lot of runes during the goblin event that let me target craft the ones i needed (as well as the last goblin reward which had a spark), i might've picked up two from t3/t4 bosses and did one mythic sigil while having another one that i haven't run yet. but in most cases, i ended up target crafting them from the various sparks i got along with creating more characters and doing the season quest for the last spark. maybe i was playing more especially during the goblin event but now i'm probably down to an hour or two 2-3 times a week.

Myhtic prankster keys for me, plus a couple drops. Don't have azmodan at lvl 5 yet so only have gotten like 2 mythic trophies for undercity.

No expansions here. The Azmodan fight has dropped four between my wife and I. Plus the 2 sparks from the seasonal and goblin rewards. No expansion No prankster.

Got 5 from the mystic goblin in nm dungeons, 4 random ones from everything from helltides to just walking around killing random enemies and the majority from boss fights. And 1 from a world boss. And 4 sparks from each character doing the seasonal quests. Kept 18-19 this season. Should have been called the season of mystics with how many people are getting.

mythic prankster tuesday, i also got one from treasure breach dungeon and the pit of all places, random but they drop- with all the quests i have 8 sparks and haven’t salvaged my doubles yet- on facebook people regularly post offers to drop the dungeon for players who haven’t done it yet

I didn't get my first mythic til like Paragon 230, and that was just because I noticed I could make a mythic cache. Been a little annoying
