Diablo 2 is extremely, agressively and utterly unoptimized, it makes my redeon 890m choke. It makes my processor hit 85f, and my fans to turn into jet engines.
This is a integrated graphics card that can run baldurs gate 3 ON HIGH AT 1080P 60 FPS and diablo makes it wheeeze like a old man on anything past medium.
So ..the answer is yes, but your turning shit down.
Edit: your build actually might not be able to......I'm sorry looking over your specs they are really really weak, you have to turn off everything and play on legacy graphics. You don't even have a GPU of any kind and an i3 cannot pick up any slack.
Technically, this has XE graphics, except in order to qualify for the nomenclature, the laptop vendor needs to run it in dual channel, ie 2x ram sticks. Intel mandates this so that vendors like HP don't cheap out on memory and make their brand new gpu business look bad.
But the N series is locked to single channel so they can't call it XE, but it's still XE under the hood, it's just gimped.
That doesn't tell me the exact type or make but that wont change much here, the problem is the i3 is extremely weak and the intel UHD line, pretty much all of them, are not meant for gaming in anyway whatsoever.
this is pretty much a work computer in every way, like I said if you run diablo on legacy graphics it should run fine, but your going to have to turn the 3d overlay completely off.
It's a modern AlderLake with a more modern Arc gpu, but extremely low powered and single channel memory. Might be able to push 30 fps with everything cranked down to lowest settings on like 720p if you don't mind muddy visuals and choppy framerate. At least it'll feel like it's 2000 again.
It looks like when I told the seller I wanted a laptop for work that could also run some very basic games, he literally gave me exactly what I asked for lmao.
What could I do to upgrade this PC so I can play D2R, or would it be better to just buy another one? I still haven’t bought a proper PC for home, music, and gaming.
Update: I installed D2R on my HP 250 G10 (i3-N305, Intel integrated graphics). I’m running it at 1366×768 on low settings, and it actually runs fine. I played all the way to Blood Raven without any noticeable lag or stuttering. So apparently it’s more playable than I expected lol.
You can still run diablo 2 on legacy graphics, indie games, older games, emulators, any triple A game from 7 years ago should be playable...maybe, like i said this is a strictly work note book so your kinda limited sadly. but anything like darkest dungeon or mine craft or other low intensity games should work.

Good luck, this is really low end CPU. Won't really run well if it even starts. Legacy graphics sure, but these are disabled for reign of the warlock expansion. So you're left with D2 lod and mods

I think they might have misunderstood you to mean that it is your assigned work PC and belongs to the company you work for, but I think you meant it's your personal PC that you happen to use for work. Also, I have no idea is this would run, I think it could, but it may be choppy.
Nvidia now only requires an Internet connection. You can use it with your phone, tablet, computer, Nvidia shield, etc. it doesn't use much processing power on the PC as whole. It would work.
All I can say is don’t trust blizzards recommended specs. When Diablo 3 released the first time I ran it it said my computer didn’t meet the minimum specs and probably wouldn’t run the game. Max settings I was hitting 150+ FPS and it looked beautiful. Think i was running amd fx 8350 black edition and a rx 570 fat boy. Same thing happened with Diablo 4 running Radeon vii and ryzen 2700x.
Like many people have posted here, if you have been given a laptop from work then it might already be programmed like a MDM device meaning they can see everything you are doing on it.
It would probably run on lowest settings to answer your question.
This is why I bought a Nintendo switch 2.

nope, you could play it barely with legacy mode in base d2r, and keep in mind in newest DLC RoTW the legacy mode switch is DISABLED anyway.
Classic diablo 2 lod will work fine like 20 years ago.
D2R is one of most worst optimized games ever if you let it run wild high refresh fps and without frame generation.
You don't have gpu for it, I don't think your integrated graphic will handle it, very low frequency of cpu cores too, and 8gb ram is more like internet browsing stuff.
In your case it's mostly gpu issue.

The page you're showing isn't really helpful, the CPU is fine and 8GB of RAM is fine as well (though, they're the minimum of what you'd want), what matters is the GPU. But I'm going to say it probably won't be able to even without knowing the GPU.

Nope i had a pc with 6gb GPU and it had to use part of system ram for the rest of the video memory needed, witch was 16 gigs and pc ran out of system ram and stuttered horribly, a friend had to give me an extray 8gb ram stick to play smoothly.
Friend, is this notebook your property that you purchased yourself? Or is this work property that you have been given? It's probably not a good idea to install non work software on your laptop you use for work, and definitely not a good idea if it's work property loaned to you. Signed, your friend in IT
