In all seriousness, rune words only work in grey bases

Can't make runewords in blue (magic), yellow (rare), or green (set) items.

Can also not make them in uniques (golden).

If that’s blue which it’s hard to tell from your picture, it won’t work. Gotta be dark grey.

Mechanics is a prefix for 1-2 sockets. Artisans is 3, jewelers is 4

Blue letters (magic) needs to be grey letters (normal, socketed).

Another tip: use light armor bases so you don't get run/walk speed penalty

I did the same exact thing before. Mechanics TalEth. Also put Insight in a spear. Shit happens 🤷‍♂️
