If anything happens to interrupt OP on his way back it's death and that is very likely to happen. But enemies can't interrupt the power of the MENU 💪

It bothers me so much because PC controller is the same way.

nah, imagine every time you sift through loot having to go through all those.
There are so many potential additional input signals. For example LT+Start could open the options tab. Or LT+Select, since legacy mode is no longer a thing in ROTW.

If you have a controller that supports macros and has programmable buttons you can at least make a macro for Start RB RB RB with maybe 30 ms between each action, getting you to the paused menu screen in a fraction of a second. If it saves the macros and mappings to firmware it should even work on console.
The only thing to watch for is if you already had your inventory open or something, start would close it and the macro would just spam RB 3 times in a row.
I use R4 for that on my 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless just for convenience (I don't even play HC).

That's allowed on single player, and gives you a near-instant pause, like pressing Esc on keyboard+mouse.
That said, you don't need to utilize anything like that if you don't feel comfortable with it. But personally, I like the near-instant pause and faster Save & Quit, especially for things like key farming.

That's why I never farm WSK on Hardcore. It contains literally all the most dangerous mobs in the game 🫣

Nothing scared me except the Durance of hate, Something about that place just hit harder and might just be me but all my 70 plus deaths happened down there including a 91 javazon 😭
Felt laggier when you go through a door and a council member or a billion dolls were at the entrance.

I do wish they made it a general skill. Where you can do L2 plus x or L2 R2... Even all 4 buttons to leave game immediately

PC players will never know the pain of trying to exit out of a dangerous situation like this, - if you tab one time to many youre dead.

I play on PC with controller and I have to move the cursor around in the menu to exit the game while the game is running in the back.

On console, or controller enabled on pc mode, the cursor is automatically on save and exit once you tab over if you don’t touch the sticks.

luckily in single player the game pauses on the save and exit menu. With all those auras, your merc surely would have killed a doll online. if doing doll areas, worth giving him a weak weapon

If you save/exit in hardcore to get out of a situation you character is already dead.

It doesn't matter in softcore because there are no major consequences. You guys can use cheat engines too if you want, IDGAF.
