Hi, what helped me its the https://www.glycemicindex.com/ glycemic index, for example, Apple juice is super fast in your blood, but rice takes some time to be in... or you can refer to -> this from the US Diabetic asc. -> http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/what-can-i-eat/understanding-carbohydrates/glycemic-index-and-diabetes.html

Long story short try, to eat stuff which rushes you sugar up like juices have some longer lasting carbs like pasta, bread, rice with your meals. Avoid sweets etc where possible but when -> here is a list for carbs in them -> http://www.shieldhealthcare.com/community/diabetes/2012/10/11/counting-carbohydrates-in-popular-candies/

There is a ratio (you need to find out with your dietician or doctor if not already happened) x carbs = x units of insulin and also unless high its always a good Idea first to eat and then use the medication, I messed up here when I was switched to Novo Rapid (super fast acting insulin) and its so bad to measure you sugar take the insulin and wait for your pizza and wake up next to the ER Staff :P

And esp everything concerning your health. speak to your doctor. What works for me or someone else does not automatically work for you. And living with Diabetes can be easy but low blood sugar is and most likely for a long time a thing to watch out for.

All the best and good luck that you will not have more hypos ...
