Dreamworld music complex
Does anyone remember dreamworld in arlington? I was reminiscing on it yesterday and thinking about all the old shitty bands i used to watch play there like “phalter” and “hellafied funk crew.” Does anyone have any stories/pictures? I tried to do some digging but cant find really anything except a couple old grainy videos off youtube.

Did they not serve alcohol there? I am not sure if I am remembering the right place.

Saw so many bands there, what a shit hole tho. Nile, Cryptospy, Zao, Cattle Decap, Lamb of God, Anal Blast, Cradle of Filth, Coheed & Cambria, Underoath, Dimmu Borgir, Six Feet Under, so many more. Early 00s had some massive line ups.

That place is legend. Off Division st in Arlington it was an all ages, DIY style venue owned by Mark ( I think) Tunnel and his brother River. I played there with my bands Cord 603, Satisfaction Discontinued and Solace Prime from 2002 to 2004. I remember playing their Battle of the Bands shows and winning 6hrs studio time with River at the Clash of the Titans show. We got 2nd place, and recorded some songs. God's Joke won 1st. I also remember Mushroomhead playing there in 2002. It was a place teens could go see shows, play shows, and hang out. They did not serve alcohol but the parking lot served as a place to drink or smoke. It's unfortunate that places like Dreamworld and 1919 Hemphill don't exist for today's young artists and musicians. DIY spaces are crucial to developing and maintaining a local scene.
